Congrats Rocco & Jason!!! Glad to hear that all went well and no get offs for either of you's.I was wondering if it may happen in the weather we were having.Sounds like it was Ace's for all that went. |

Congrats to everyone! I wouldn't have had the guts to go around there in the rain. I ride in the rain, but on the racetrack. No Thanks! Congrats again! |

Steve, in a sick way, I rather enjoyed it. Great learning experience. Sometimes at a trackday I can get to focused on trying to go faster that I lose sight of what it is that makes me faster which is being as smooth as possible. The rain forced me to focus on absolutely nothing but smoothness. Of course there was some sliding going on, but nothing I couldn't ride through. Once comfortable in the wet, I was starting to pick people off fairly regularly. I have to admit, it's a pretty cool feeling to pass two bikes on the outside in one corner while getting spray in your face and feeling absolutely relaxed as you do it. Jason, well, I'm sure it wasn't as easy as you make it sound to be. I don't think I could have relaxed enough to be smooth. But I suppose, on the track, it's not like on the street where you have a massive variance to how slippery the surface is. No worry about tar snakes<I had a major pucker factor this morning in the rain on one down moreland road in Waukesha>, painted lines, etc... But I can confidently say, you're a far better rider than I Hence wanting to join Coolice next summer doing Pridmore's CLASS. |

Steve, I wouldn't say it was easy, but you can definitely be relaxed while doing it. I'd bet you'd be more relaxed than you think. It's just like on the street (okay, maybe a little faster). But regardless, you've got plenty of wet miles on the street so you know how to be smooth with the throttle, brakes and what not. I wouldn't say I'm a better rider than anybody else (I'd say on a good day I'm about average and I get blown away on a fairly regular basis including multiple times this weekend - just wait til next year when scoring will officially document my suckage), I was probably just able to relax a little more than some guys (of whom I'm sure a bunch would've just stomped me in the dry), perhaps because I didn't know any better . I need Pridmore's school as much as anybody else (probably more) and hope to take it next year. (Message edited by uwgriz on September 26, 2005) |

CAMP BLACKHAWK REPORT- (Rockford, Il) A great weekend highlighted with outstanding performances of several BUELL motorcycle riders. Starting Friday with the successful awarding of competition licenses to Rocketsprink and UWGriz. They demonstrated their riding skills in the changing conditions that included heavy rain on the course. Saturday continued the strength of the BUELL riders with M2Guy taking a solid 2nd place in his class, with a plaque to show for his efforts. Joining the winning ways of the BUELL riders was Paul, literally curving his way through the field and bringing two 1st place plaques to the Belle City supported race camp. The group celebrated with a great campfire dinner with many stories to share. Sunday the skies opened up with heavy rain but our BUELL riders held their lines and again showed us how great the East Troy Wisconsin built machines are by again winning in the poor track conditions in the last race of the day. Great times where had by all, Kids too! Til the next Belle City track event ride on BUELL!! |

Wish I'd taken Toms offer up last year to go to the races. Now, at the end of the season, I'm ready and have like 6 stinkin' months to wait!! Me, Tom and Jason with what we came for! Waiting for Jason and the Buell with the loose exhaust! Thank God Heather noticed it and Tom just pulled in to run over and help out. I hope I can find a crew person as focused on details as Coolice! Cleaning after every race/practice. Adding 2&1/2 QUARTS of oil after one race! Changing tires and sprockets. And if ya look hard, you can tell he's doing it with a smile! When not busy, the top of Mikes RV was the place to be! Although the weather left a bit to be desired, it was a pretty successful weekend for all. |

Ya that's right-YOU clean the r/v in the shortest time ever, Fiery helped TOO! I know Dana, I forgot the polish, when I get a time at the next race I'll get after the pipe! Got to get ready to race first and worry about the shine if there is time, even tho in the pics on the track it does look great. So next year in the Belle City calendar how about a couple of club events at the races to support our club racers? The campfire chat is great. Glad everyone had fun, I did, PLUS I got to be with Fiery!! (even tho she wasn't feelin good, she did do tire change's for Paul on Sat) Great photos Rocco, hope Jon enjoyed his weekend. |
