You should mount those driving lights where the turn signals are, and have them replace the signals when you use your blinker which would over-ride the main switch -- So that whether you had them on or off - they would blink with the blinker...

Davies of Waterloo - a sponsor - could probably hook you up through parts lookup.

Here's my idea for 2-up foot pegs adapted from the stock frame component.

1st, you use the left side bracket, on the right side of the bike and vice versa. As shown in the first picture, it simply needs to be rotated as shown. To do this, I think the studs on the bracket will need to be cut off. Then you could drill holes and bolt it on at the right angle.

2nd, you need to cut off the rear part that will support the passanger peg and re-position it at a downward angle as shown in the second picture. The part that supports the driver peg needs to be shortened, and new pegs for the driver that fold up at the right angle will need to be installed.

Let me know what you think. I've wanted to do this for some time, but I don't have a welder, and have only welded a few times, so I wouldn't do a very good looking job of it either...

May I make a suggestion or request? Take pic one & two and somewhat combine the ideas. Pic 1 leave the upward part to the rear, the peg being parallel to the rear fender. Pic 2 remove the downward part toward driver footpeg. The finished part has the original footpeg setup PLUS the additional footpeg mount up and to the rear. I hope you understand what I am trying to type.
Thanks
Kat

Here is what I mean. Sorry I do not have Photoshop to do it. Remove the part that goes down behind stock footpeg. So the finished bracket is front peg stock, rear peg stock, upper peg new. Hope that helps! LOL

Fasterblaster - I don't have adobe illustrator. I do everything in Photoshop and post in jpg. The photo I started with is widely available online from lots of different websites, if that’s what you're looking for. If you're looking for something else, I'm not sure that I can help?

Buellkat - LOL OK, I guess I did understand what you were suggesting the first time. It just didn’t make sense to me so I assumed I had misunderstood you. The end result you are suggesting would be 3 foot rest locations on each side of the bike, correct? Two complete sets of stock foot peg brackets would be combined to create one finished set in order to get that 3rd foot rest location. The highest set of pegs, (the ones parallel to the frame) would only be a few inches lower than the seat, and I can't imagine a person who would be able to use them, except possibly a land mine victim or a midget- and I'm not even sure it's politically correct to refer to them in public unless you're raising money for the Princess Diana fund (http://www.landmines.org.uk/100), or discussing “Mini Kiss” (http://www.musicgarden.net/bands/mini_kiss.html), so forget I brought it up. Also, the driver would still have his/her feet in the stock position; and the whole point of changing anything in the first place is to create rear-sets similar to the ergonomics of the Banke unit, but while retaining the passenger foot rests and 2-up capability; at least that’s what I had in mind.

I thought the idea you were trying to come up with was just that.......the third set of pegs for a rear-type set up for the lean over and touch the knees on the corners type. Perhaps that would be too high. I thought it would look goofy with 3 sets of pegs but initially I understood your idea to be just that. Eventually something will come of the imagination....good luck.

Nothing Radical -

I got the bike in Feb. Dropped in a K&N filter, rerouted the breather to back under the seat, installed the pro-series pipe, and finished the rejetting on the carb this weekend.

I am really happy with the sound and the Blast on "dbl shot of espresso" performance.

Has anybody notice the Lame looking Seat and Tank design on the 2006 Blast. The Tank looks like it has a long tail that connect to the front of the seat.

Can somebody tell Eric Buell that this is a design no no..!!

I could go with the standard seat but bought mine with low seat so when wife is riding it she can stop and have both feet flat with flex left in her knees. I am going to see if I can squirrel away the money and talk her into letting me get the Corbin seat. It looks really good and from the posts I've read it's real comfortable.

P.s. If we wanted to get Erik to change anything how about narrowing stock exhaust so it does'nt get in the way of servicing primary.THAT would be nice and is one of the reasons I went to pro-series exhaust.

OK, I happen to like the "long tail" on the blast tank exposed. On my wifes bike with the low seat, I painted the silver section of the frame above the foot pegs mount in the tank color. This gives a visual blend to the bike.

FWIW, after a few weeks with the low seat, she prefers the high seat I bought on Ebay. Me too. It's taller, and allows more movement on the seat. I can get a break by sitting on the passenger portion, or scooting up all the way to the tank. Kinda like the old UJMs.

Now though, the standard seat hides the tail of the tank, and it no longer blends. Plus, the height and width of that front section of the seat serve no purpose. I don't even come close to using that "excess" material.

Any pictures of the Corbin seat? Any experienced users?

I have to take my left peg bracket off to change my primary fluid this week. Think I will try the bracket swap and see how it looks. It would probably be a good time for me to mount some new pegs for the bike also. Looks like I am going to start my winter projects a little early this year.

There is at least 4 of us here (EZ,Jprovo,Scott,me andI'm sure more) running the Corbin seat. HUGE improvement over stock and now selling at $220 its a bargain. They were $330+, so buy now before the price goes up again.
Look around at the pics or log onto EZ's profile.
Also Corbins are available with custom options.

PS I really, really like the way the bike looks with the low stock seat!!

$250 shipping included. I bought them new and they were only on the bike for a few weeks. Never dropped or dragged. The Bankes do "bolt right on" without any modifications or trips to the hardware store!
Naustin does have first shot since he did ask me about them 9 months ago.

(Actually a Mr Villar asked me about them first, but I havent seen him post in a very long time.)

Gear - consider them sold. I'll email you and we'll figure out the details. Sweet.

PS - I emailed teh guy with those pegs for sale on ebay. I've actually talked to him several times. My idea was actually an adaptation of his, and I sent him the pictures too thinking he might be able to build them for me. But, now that I'll have your old banke sets, it won't matter.

He told me he has a 625cc motor being built for his blast - all custom, and is planning to run nitrous through it, and is expecting over 90 hp. I'm still waiting for him to get me some pics of that motor.... I think he might be pulling my leg. ; )
