Hi, I just ordered the luggage set for my Uly and am having it shipped to my office. I want to ride the bike into work, the day it arrives, and hopefully mount the luggage during my lunch break. Can anyone who has mounted the luggage themselves tell me what tools I will need to bring with me to the office so that I can do it here? Luggage should arrive next week - along with Tank bag and service manual... TIA Cheers -Jack |

Jeez I hope you get your luggage faster than mine is coming. I ordered it when I picked up my bike and still haven't gotten it yet. That was over a month ago. The dealer says he ordered 2 sets at the unveiling of the new Buells and therefore has prioity and still no baggage. |

I have the side bags but no bike yet. Maybe Thunderbox will let me ride his bike if I let him put stuff in my luggage. You'll need the following for installation. -Ratchet with 3/8" socket -7/16" open end -Rubbing alcohol to install reflectors -Torque wrench if so inclined You will also need to remove a couple of button head bolts but since I don't have the bike I can't tell you what you need to remove them. I think that they are torx head screws. I didn't think it would take anymore than 30 minutes to install and that was confirmed by someone on this board who did it. |

Uly luggage shipments will soon be up to demand. The first couple hundred sets got "equitably distributed" as best as could be done. The August European holiday tossed wrench in the works, but I'll bet you get them quickly. If you have any problems getting updates, drop me a note at buellquestions@gmail.com Court |

Court, Any idea what's happening with the low seat? I believe during the chat session they said it would be available mid September. My dealer still doesn't have a part number. |

The TORX you need for installing the bags is a T27. BC Steve |

Same story here....bought the Uly one month ago this week, ordered luggage the same day, and am still waiting. Also waiting for the low seat to become available. Hope the prime riding season isn't over before either is available. (Message edited by eor on September 21, 2005) |

Hi Eor and Brotherbuell, I guess I was just lucky. My bags arrived less than two weeks after I took delivery of the bike back on the 7th of August. We're all waiting on the lower seat and I hope it comes soon or I'm going a cuttin on my stock one! BC Steve |

>>>Any idea what's happening with the low seat? Yes. I inadvertently posted the part numbers a while back, but it's not yet in the system. Drop me a note at Buellquestions@gmail.com and remind me to send you an update on seat deliveries. |

The dealer where i bought the Uly, ordered bags at the July 'show' and still hasn't received them. I did pay for them when I got the bike, in order to get a discount and 2-year warranty on them. They did however charge me 3 hours labor for installing them. This is a very trustworthy dealer, but it still seems kinda long. My only thought is that they either got the 3 hour figure from the factory, or were estimating based on Harley 'history'. |

3 Hours for mounting??? I have some issues with my dealer but charging me for install of the bags is not one of those issues. He didn't charge me anything above the price of the bags. Probably still made a fortune. So how much do they charge an hour for luggage install? |

Bags and top box= 3 hrs. I didn't know, that's why I'm asking. I will take it up with the dealer at that time. I have confidence that they'll make it right if indeed the installation time is much less. I' think it was prob the sales manger guesstimate. |

Could be. I always guess high when I figure labor too. Always nice to tell the customer it is less than they thought. |

Thats really no surprise. Mine came through with a Vespa ignition plate cover. And a set of Hyosang foot pegs. With the front cylinder in two stroke and the other is a rotory one. LMAO |
