I just checked my oil level and it is on the fill oil mark, not all the way at the bottom but the first one at the top of the dipstick. I have HD synth in the bike but would it hurt to add some Mobil 1 synth (vtwin 20 w 50)? Thanks ahead as I am leaving in about 30 mins to go on a 200 mile ride. Ken | ||

I've top off all my vehicles in the past and present with some other weight and type. Some of them are even used in extreme conditions. It's not going to kill the motor by doing this. What will is not enought oil. I keep my oil level on my XB9R just above the top notch on the dip stick. I do the same on my vette, half quart over the high line on the dipstick. | ||

I never like to over fill anything even by that little, I always worry about having the oil hit the bottom on the crank and start to wipe or froth the oil and this will cause the pump to cavitate. you should be fine with toping off your bike with the different brand just never mix synth with Dynosaur oil. thats never a good practice | ||

Blasterd - I add Mobil 1 15W-50 to the Syn 3 that the dealer filled the bike with. It hasn't blow up so far.  | ||

Frothing the oil is a concern is you really over fill. Not going to happen by overfilling just a little. |
