Time to change fork oil in my 2003 XB9R...not a big deal because I'm familiar w/Showa inverted forks (my '92 Ducati has them).

But in searching the XBoard and the KV I can't find any discussion of fork oil viscosity. Manual says "Type E" but the dealer is not convenient, and (like the old synthetic oil issue) it is possible that other fork oil (I've used Bel-Ray) is acceptable and maybe a bit better.

Anyway, for those who change their own fork oil...what viscosity seemed to work well? In the past I've used both 5W, 7W, and 10W. If I get no response I'll probably use 7W. Thanks for any information!

I got my seals and fork oil from http://www.traxxion.com/

I'll let you know which fork oil they recommended, it was same as stock but one of the brands they carried. They recommended I stay with stock weight for a few track days a year and daily driving.

I'm using traxxion dynamics oil in mine too and am quite pleased.
