It just occurred to me that I own three V-twins; all with different angles: 2003 Buell XB9R -> 45 degree 2000 Aprilia Mille -> 60 degree 1992 Ducati 900SS -> 90 degree Can anybody beat that? Motorcycles only, please. | ||

A few thoughts... It could be argued that a 0-degree twin (example: verticle twin) and a 180-degree twin (BMW boxer) are not V-twins. But if you subscribe to that then 90-degree twins like the Duc, Guzzi, TL, RC51, etc. are L-twins and not V-twins. Of course then this would make your American V-8 engines L-8 engines instead. Has a manufacturer ever built a twin that was greater than 90 degress but less than 180? Tim | ||

Probably not. Over 90 degrees you have a very innefficient use of space, and don't get the primary balance you get with a boxer. | ||

The final production version was an 80 degree V with the heads tilted inwards (I think it was like 10 or 14 degrees). Although I think the prototypes where indeed 90 degrees. | ||

Hi, OK, I have: a few 45 degree harleys. a 90 degree Duc. a 90 degree Briggs and Stratton V twin. (I count it as a bike, it's in a minibike frame) | ||

I think the metric cruisers come in many different configs - except 45 degrees. I think this restriction was to keep HD from suing - although I don't know how S&S can market an engine that is almost an exact copy??? Tim | ||

A Suzuki ad on the back page of the local free MC magazine says the small Boulevard cruisers have 45 degree singles! |
