Does anyone know if the version sold in CA is specific to the State, or can I purchase a Uly in another State and bring it into CA?? TIA |

According to the parts book, there are 2 evaporative emission hoses that are "California only"....... My guess is no to your question. BC Steve |

Frank, call your local DMV, and DOCUMENT THE CONVERSATION! the CA DMV has very specific guidelines regarding this, much more than i can go over in this post, but i CAN tell you that you do NOT, as a Cali resident, want to buy a out-of-state bike without having your ducks in a row. talk to the DMV, make SURE who you talk to knows what they're talking about, and document the conversation, including who you spoke to (first AND last name) and the date. if in doubt, go higher in the DMV food chain, and document the conversation. i am serious. 1) Yes 2) Not a new one. You can bring in an out of state USED vehicle if you are the second R.O. and the vehicle has 7500 miles on it before you ever touch it. |

Ferris, You've got a flight to catch. Get your in bed. Me? I'm exstatic for the next week and a half. Had one beer too many, but what the hell. Frank, Ferris has the crib for getting a non-CA bike titled in CA. You've just got to do a jaunt across the country to prove it. |

Thanks guys. I am just looking at what options I have if I can't line up a CA Uly. Might have to wait till there is a used one up for sale with the required miles. |

Heh,hee. Hey Sleez, not before I do. I've got my name on one, so we'll see. There are only two bar in town. Patterson's or Dick's. I don't think they allow Buell riders in at Dick's. I always went to Patterson's when I had my S3T. (Message edited by FrankF on September 01, 2005) |

Unibear is 100% correct. Buying a vehicle in CA is a pain because of the more stringent emission standards in this state. Bikes CANNOT be retrofitted to make them CA legal. If it's a "49 state" bike" it has to have at least 7500 miles on it. |

It looks like 2 of the 3 Ulys that are coming to Ukiah have been sold...the black one has my name on it. This will be my second Buell (a 97 M2 Cyclone that I wish I still had is still running around Marin somewhere). I can't wait to ride it. I'm looking forward to seeing Ferris Buellers posts...ride safe Jerry |
