Coolice, I don't think it will be a HUGE deal. Talked with Dan Bilanski about it. He said it wasn't difficult to do. So I think tomorrow is tear down the S3 day. I really wanted to wait till late fall to start tearing down the bike(gonna do some bling!, a few motor "upgrades", and some fork rebuilding). |

Well, just got home from the Drag races and had a great time. I lost in the 2nd round of the money runs, but I can't complain too much. My 1st time at the strip on the Buell. The only thing consistent was my crappy reaction times. Always around .2 to .5. BUT my last run was a sweet .001 reaction. Best time was 12.5 at 106mph. I had the honor of getting smoked by Wes on what I think was his first sub 10 second pass, but I'll let him tell ya if he feels like chiming in. Lea or is it Leah is wicked fast and just one of the coolest/nicest girls out the. (Other than my wife, Heather, CJ and Nancy). Speaking of which both CJ and Nancy were cranking off some pretty impressive reaction times and mph's as well. All in all, it was fun and I'd do it again. But I still like roadracing more. |

Had a riot on Sunday! Was great to see everybody out there...I was trying to keep Leah away from CJ (and Fiery to a slightly lessser extent....), but unfortuneately they all quickly became friends. I think its only a matter of time now before before she starts demanding grits and starts fixin' to hurt me if she continues to hang around. Seriously though, it was great to see the girls out there! CJ broke 100mph and wants a faster bike now! the three of them closed down the staging lanes. You guys must have made over 20 passes! Personally had a great time, although it was a bummer lining up against Mr. Reaction time (Jason) early in the first round...I was lucky enough to squeak by on that one. I also had a great opportunity to ride a Eagle Harley-Davidson prepared V-Rod, and despite a shagged clutch, managed to make my first 9 second pass ever! (9.93 at 133mph). I also found out today that the time also set the record for Worlds fastest street legal V-rod! Thanks again to Eagle H-D for letting me abuse the bike (took 5 practice runs and 1 clutch to get there...Should have a video of the run later today... |

I was trying to keep Leah away from CJ (and Fiery to a slightly lessser extent....) Wow, Fiery may have kicked my butt on the drag strip but I’m still the “Baddest” influence around, yea !!! Leah kicks at the strip, she’s super fast and handles her bike like a pro, very impressive had more than a few guys intimidated !! Her only downfall is she’s entirely too nice, but given the chance I’ll help her out there and influence her so she can learn to be “fixen” to hurt folks when necessary !! I did do 100 mph a few times, but that’s all my poor bike has in it, I do need a faster bike because although I never thought I’d like going fast down a straight, I do love it and wished my bike would do more !! Congrats to Fiery who kicked my butt with over 104 mph !! Thanks Jason for helping me get my reaction time down, thanks Cosmo for getting pics for me, and everyone who kept up with my stuff while I was riding, and everyone else for the camaraderie (sp?) and all THE FUN !! Congrats Wes/racerx1 for Worlds fastest street legal V-rod! run, holy cow !! And thanks to Dana and Scott for the wrist bands/tickets to get in, you guys Rock !! CJ |

Ok, Ok, I just got caught sneaking a peek at your discussion board by Wes/racerX1 just because I was curious to see how everyone liked the event yesterday at the Dragstrip... Looks like I'll get to see all of you speed addicts at the track again soon! That is if Wes (aka Cupcake by CJ & Fiery) will let me hang out with him after the part where we Finally met and became friends! (Oops too late, the unfortunate part of the 'bad influence' was for Wes not me) Now I know why he was 'trying to keep me away'... BTW, he was the one who gave me the nickname HurricaneLeah for reasons I'm sure you will all figure out by hanging around me, it has nothing to do with the speed I aspire to achieve... I had an awesome time meeting all of you and enjoyed watching you make some impressive runs! (I still can't believe the reaction times all of you were pulling!) If I remember correctly, Fiery pulled an 0.008 and Jason had an 0.001! And CJ breaking 100 mph! Very cool! Thanks for everything! It was great meeting/seeing all of you out there and looking forward to seeing all of you soon! That was fun, let's do it again! |

It was great seeing all you guys again, hangin out, riding, laughin', insulting Wes(Mr. Cupcake) oops did I say that. hehe Leah, It was great meetin' ya, ridin down the track with ya as you left me in the dust. (I need more speed!!!!!!!! So Wes, when are we drillin' some holes in that airbox? I told Coolice I needed his bike for draggin'. I don't think he bought it.) You Rock Girl! And never mind what Wes says about me and CJ. But, Way to GO Wes on your record breaking run! Tooo Cooool! Girls, thanks for the cheering and watching out for our belongings. Griz, Rocco, Nice Reaction times!! Hey Rocco, how about them stunt riders. Jonathan, you're still a cutie, even with your smokers cough imitation. Tomorrow I will finally have my 4 eyes back so I don't look like this anymore. D'oh |

Keep us posted on what you find in there Steve, and post some pics of the process if you can. I'm real curious. |

Yeah, I did plan on documenting the process, and posting it on brewcitybrag.org I talked with Dan Bilanski after I spoke with you. He said it's *REALLY* easy to change that seals. The bearings are a bit more difficult, but not that bad he said. I'll probably pull the shift drum, and give it to one of our tool makers to bevel the edges a tad(1/64" to 1/32", and polish it up. Making a poor man's baker smooth shift. |

Hellion, somehow I knew you'd be tied to this event !! We seem to keep going to the same events, need to just look for each other at them !! LOL You know if I find William, I'm going to try and take him home, I'll return him after a while though !! |

Well you know you've got one as well and two cute little nephews if I remember right, and I'd take any of them home as well !!! Shame on you for what you're implying, you know I just think kids at that age are so cute, if I win the lottery I think I'd actually adopt a few !! CJ |

We won't be making it tonight either. Jon starts school tomorrow and we still have some supplies to get and I told him we'd play outside till it gets dark as his last fling of the summer. Well, at least summer break. Wanted to go somewhere this weekend, but I'm stuck working Saturday. Actually not stuck, the extra $$$ comes in handy. I don't know what everyones plans are so have a fun, safe Labor Day Weekend. Maybe go for a ride Sunday or Monday!? |

Wellll.... Good thing I pulled things apart. The rear wheel sprocket side outer bearing was SHOT. Looks like it didn't spin in the bore either WHOOOPIE!!! The 5th gear bearing feels okay. That sprocket was on there good. Needed the impact wrench to get the nut off(yea MikeJ, I know, it's left handed ). Now to pull the tranny out... |

Steve, So it was the wheel bearing and not the 5th gear bearing? That's probably a relief since you have to get the seal replaced anyway. But while you have the tranny out you could slip in a Baker 6-speed, I mean why waste the perfect opportunity for mission creep to set in, eh????? Glad to hear though that the tranny bearing looked good, gives me some peace of mind about mine. |

Mike, I *WISH* I could justify the Baker 6 speed BTW, dunno if Racine HD is part of this or not. But take a look at Brew City Brag board for some Buell sponsored track day info. |
