With all the hype on the Ulysses, I was surprised to pass by the motorcycle section and see that Rider magazine did an article on the new Lightning SS.
It is a very positive article for Buell.

Then, as a nice added surprise, they even did a one pager on the Cityx on the next page

Yep, and they look like they are working on a story about the Ulysses too. I got a call from my HD dealer that a guy from Rider Mag was on his way to my neck of the woods in case I wanted to catch up with him. They knew I was interested in the Ulysses. I tried to find him, but could not connect. Guess I'll have to wait for the next issue.

The XB12SS has been really overshadowed by the Uly. It't almost unfortunate in a way, because it's a REALLY nice bike. I rode one on saturday and I loved it.

The first word that came to mind when I rode it was "Smooth". The new tranny rocks. The clutch pull is better than I imagined. The seat was more comfortable than a Road King. I love the way it rides. Very easy to handle and stable. My '03 Firebolt feels like a 1910 Harley by comparison. It is a very, very, very nice motorcycle.

American Iron had an editorial called "America's best kept secret". A lot of nice things to say about Buells.

I rode an Ss at Sturgis, and loved it! It had just enough extra room to make it comfortable, along with the improved seat, and it looked like it had just enough room on back for soft bags and a pack, all I needed.

I want one.

the Rider dude was in Ukiah Friday, the dealer called me at home about 11am, duh, i was at work!! so i missed him. the dealer stated the Rider dude was pretty happy overall so far!

STOP with all the positive press. I'd like to see a few more Buells on the road but I don't want to see them everywhere - like Harley's and crotch rockets. It's pretty cool to be riding a secret weapon. : )
