Erik Buell called me, (I missed the call) and followed up with an email, apologizing for whomever made the insulting remarks about me. Took a good man to do that, and I appreciate it. I accepted the apology, and consider the matter closed. |

Thanks for sharing that encouraging news Paul. That's too cool. You planning on taking a Uly for a test ride any time soon? The local dealership in Tyler, Texas will have a demo bike available sometime in September or October. I'm sure anxious to take one for a good test ride. |

Blake, I'd love to try out the Uly, but not sure where I can find one. Purchasing will have to be postponed in any event. My race engine swallowed a Uly. |

i think the fact that this site directly affects the direction of a major motorcycle company is phenomenal.I very seriously doubt that any sushi bike ceo takes time out of his day to even acknowledge the pure existance of one of his customers.let alone call the man himself!! bravo to you Mr Buell. |

I'm sorry for being out of the loop, but can someone link to the original thread? I'm just wondering what happened that Erik had to apologize for? Not that I want to be nosey or anything . . . Just curious. |

Just a bit of an unwarranted flaming by an Anonymous contributor. Nothing you would be interested in. Please trust me on this. What is the difference between being nosy and being curious? Perspective maybe? |

Blake, with the apology from Erik to Snail, will you now cancel the posting anonymous policy? Seems that it was abused to the point of being "above the law". |

the Anon policy has not been abused. not even close. |

Whoa boy lets not go there. The situation is resolved now, thanks to cooler heads prevailing, and Eriks demonstration of pure class. Lets allow this thing to rest. The Anon policy is purely up to Blake to decide, and I am sure he will make (or has already made) the right decision. I think our little web-community is much stronger now as a result of this whole thing. So lets go along our merry way shall we? |

Not so sure on that "not abused",Mr. Haughton.I ,for one,was really irate and more than a bit appalled at that particular "anon". I posted a couple of times that an apology was not only in order but necessary. And not to belittle Erik's in any way,it really should have come from the original poster,as that's where the inflammatory and insulting remarks came from. And to rebut his remark to Snail about being welcomed with open arms by the Hayabusa.org boys,I was indeed welcomed and treated well by the Hayabusa boys at Bonneville and recieved help, pointers, and friendship from all that I met.Still friends with John Noonan. |

i think the fact that this site directly affects the direction of a major motorcycle company is phenomenal. I just got back from the races at VIR. I was walking around and saw a Buell sponsored by Appleton HD. I stopped and asked the guy if he knew Dave S. The first thing out of his mouth was "Are you from Badweb?" That was cool. |

Not so sure on that "not abused",Mr. Haughton.I ,for one,was really irate and more than a bit appalled at that particular "anon". Mr. Higgins, i agree that "that" particular anon was rude in his/her comments to Snail, and i said as much in that thread at that time. the fact that "that" anon apologized, albeit via Erik, is very stand up all the way around, and, as Snail so graciously put it, "I accepted the apology, and consider the matter closed." now then, considering dumping BADWEB's entire policy on anon posting over this one incident, as Ricky's post *seems* to imply, is silly. right? Lets allow this thing to rest. sorry Indy, couldn't let Ricky's post go without comment. my response was concise and correct. The Anon policy is purely up to Blake to decide... incorrect. you're not taking into account the input that Blake receives from BADWEB's small core of custodians. So lets go along our merry way shall we? good advice, but Ricky's post warranted a response. ...I was indeed welcomed and treated well by the Hayabusa boys at Bonneville... as i would expect to be if i pulled up on my FJR or Madduck's Uly. "that" anon's comments to Snail were incorrect and out of line here on BADWEB. an apology was issued and accepted, showing class all the way around. just what BADWEB is continuously striving to maintain. and *almost* always successful at. Ricky, the anonymous feature will remain as is. what Jon (a fellow custodian) said. FB |

Jerry,I must have missed the fact that the anon did indeed apologize, though through Erik.If that is the case I will STFU. As I was reading it,it did not sound as if Erik was doing the apologizing at the behest of the perpetrator in question. Of course if he was just issuing an apology because he felt bad at what was said and the anon in question was not involved in the apology I will continue on my hardheaded,one-wayed,stubborn ranting. FMJ, i have no idea who "the" anon in this case was, nor do i want (or need) to know. i DO know that Erik Buell himself called Snail, and followed up with several e-mails, and if THAT doesn't convince someone that Mr. Buell is the real deal, nothing will. keep ranting; we'll keep the lights on for you. Jim, the matter is concluded. That said, thanks for being my friend. In fact, thanks to all our friends that supported us when it was clearly an unpopular thing to do. Friends are a good thing to have. |

Walt and Mike are fine. Walt Sipp went out very early on with a mechanical, and then Mike Ciccotto pitted after lap 6. I was watching it "live" on AMASuperbike.com Jim |
