JJ and I went to check out the Uly at gails today...The bike is awesome...I really didn't think it was all that from the pictures, but when you see it and sit on it you really see what a all around great bike this is...I will definately be getting one in a year or so when some used ones are on the market.. Also, Jim if you get on the board welcome and thanks for taking us up to see the bike.. Larry |

Ya, I knew when I posted that I would get a load of S#!t, but I didn't want to wait until I got a chance to go to Topeka....I will say this..we met a salesman named Jim who actually liked the Buell and is going to buy one, and took the time to take us upstairs and see it..They wouldn't let him buy any of the first ones they got in, but he is set on gettin' a Uly..He admitted he didn't know much about any of the Buells other than the Uly, but he is going to get on BWB to get learned. So I did willingly go to Gails was treated good and am very impressed with the new bike, on the down side, the Buell apparell rack was completely empty? Maybe they are making room for a bunch of new Buell stuff?... Larry (Message edited by kccyclone on August 25, 2005) |

Man Lauren you have a rolodex like memory!!! Very wife like I must say. Anyway I have to agree, in the past Gails rubbed me the wrong way, but Jim "I think thats his name," was real cool, and that was the first positive feeling I've had at Gails after walking out. SoOOOOOOO maybe times are changing? |

I talked with Dani last week and she has a bunch of new 06' stuff on order, she admitted that it does seem to take some time for the new merchandise to come in. |

The Buell stuff is on the clearance racks. I, too sat on the Ulysses today. DARN YOU TO HECK, ERIC BUELL! I have a month and a half old 1200C with a couple thousand dollars of add-ons to bring it up to do long distance 2-ups and bags for trips. And now I am poor. Today I got lust in my heart for that Ulysses. They are selling it for MSRP and told me I could have it if I signed right then. I came sooo close to signing, but I would have taken a big loss on the 1200C, had to come up with another $4,000 or so, and probably would have lost my wife, child, and house as she would have thrown me out! (I did try to convince her just now, but no dice. Even with that great back seat.) The Ulysses is awesome! I couldn't flat-foot it and get both heels on the ground at once, but if I was wearing my riding boots I could have. It has everything I wanted in a Buell and could not get. I sat on it 3 or 4 times. It is nice and upright. Very comfy. Easy controls. The clutch was like butter, and on and on...... I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. Darn you Eric. If you had to build my ideal bike, why couldn't you have announced it 2 weeks earlier? Now you have ruined my life for a while. Wife, daughter, home? or Ulysses? Aaaaaaargh! |

You guys feel free to copy and cross post this on the "other" KC site...Hell, I don't know what is politically correct in KC anymore but I think Frank is on this one and you guys know how much I like Frank...Ya, you, Frank...Get your arse down to AR for this...Average high mid Oct is 75 and low is 53...Then you can ride real conservatively all weekend and then on the last ride blow everyone’s socks off...I'll never, ever forget that last run up NC 28!!!... So, here's a funny...Pre-ride meeting last Sunday and I emphasize a certain turn on B highway where we have, uh, "lost" riders before...And then before leaving the first fuel stop at Potosi MO I gather the flock again and reiterate my prior warning about said left hand turn on B highway...Next thing I know we're helping a guy get himself and his Blackbird back up on B highway in "THE TURN" and he asks, calmly, "Is this the turn?"...Doh!... Larry and JJ, I made it on the board tonight, thanks for stopping in today, I really enjoyed talking to you guys. I don't know about you but I cant stop thinking of the Uly. Tonight my wife was talking about her day at work and the whole time she was talking, I had visions in my head of crossing the continental divide on the Uly, if she only knew. Looking forward to the info on Glacier. Take Care. Jim |

You are absolutely right. I need to banish my "Uly lust" from my heart , and enjoy the Sportster (and the Buell when/if my wife lets me). I'll get my Uly some years in the future. I sure hope they sell well - my alternative is a KLR or a BMW (used of course)......... |

I love all of this Uly lust. It means that I will be able to buy one of your XBs soon and still keep my S1! I hate being 500 miles away from my Buell. If you think it would suck to only have a car for transportation, imigane taking the el everywhere! Everyone needs to bug Pele about tonights ride. Make sure he goes. |

Trueblue - My wife nixed the Uly. I hope it, and all others you get, sell like crazy...... In the mean time, I'm going riding......... All I need to do is trade in my Joe Rocket gear for black leather jacket and pants, and a patch vest, and my journey to the dark side will be complete..... |
