What are the benefits of adding an oil cooler and/or fan kit to my '99 X1. I am currently running HD synthetic. Will I achieve any performance benefits and/or increase motor longevity, if so, to what degree? My bike has fairly low miles at the moment (about 4k), runs well, and I'm trying to follow-up my primary tensioner & oil pump drive gear replacements with other preventitive measures. I learned that even with low miles, there was significant wear with the stock items which has got me wondering what else I can do to make her run well for years...thanks in advance. |

Leo,oil cooler would help if you lived in desert Southwest, fan kit if you do alot of city stop and go driving.Other than that run the proper plugs and tune it so it does not run lean and you should be fine. |

Yeah. Don't worry about it. Mine has 58500 on it now with no oil cooler and running normal castrol 20-50. It used to overheat in the city until I lowered the idle from 1100 to 900. |
