I'm heading down there for a rally the weekend of September 16 - 18 and thought I might get together for lunch with some fellow badwebbers...maybe catch a Meanie burger in town. |

Yup not more than 20 minutes from there. What rally? Mikexlr might be up for it as well as Trampsquatch. Keep us posted. |

Don't laugh, but it's a BMW thing. There's a group of guys I ride with called the DeadHorse...some are a member of the BMW club and they host a rally (Snappin' Turtle) at the Cedar Rapids campground in Barryville (it's just a few miles west of Port Jervis on 97). We'll be heading down Friday to set up camp - should be there by early afternoon. Saturday is a play day...I missed the rally last year and am looking for many reasons to go running up Hawk's Nest a few time. (Message edited by cruisin on August 24, 2005) |

For those wondering, here's the definition of the club (some of us follow the "guidelines" more closely than others): Excerpt from deadhorse.com Who are we ? We are a international biker (mostly in NE US) non-club un-formed around like interests of MOTORCYCLES, (mostly EUROPEAN twins) the drinking of BEER, Ogling of WOMEN, (Woo, woo, woo Redheads) Of course the female club members look at the guy's, (at least I think they do), camping, rally'n, riding FAST, living CHEAP, general neglect of personal hygiene, IE: SCOOTER TRASH. Trying to get us organized is like trying to beat a DEAD HORSE (that's where the name came from). We have NO rules,NO dues, NO newsletter and generally don't get EXCITED to much. "BIG n' LIVING LARGE might be a favorite saying if we were that organized. TWO to five parties seem to happen most years... |

Everybody's welcome (we'll see if I still stick to those words after that rally). If you're coming east to west you go past the bar and there's a left turn right after the guardrail. Goes down a little hill and we'll be camping down there. Look for the only XB that will be there. We usually have a roaring campfire Saturday night...I'd love to actually meet some of the people here. |

We usually find several reasons to head back into town over and over again just to ride Hawk's nest. If anybody else knows some excellent twisties, I'm game! |

I almost never see any other Buells in the area when I'm there. If you're staying in the area, you better come down to the campfire...I'm sure I can find something cold for you to drink |

cruisin, figure about 45 minutes to two of the best roads in a cuople of hundred mile radius (no kidding). keep in mind each one is only about 5-7 miles long, but they are well worth it! |

What have I done??? We definitely have to hook up then. We have some of those roads in Vermont - they're not long, but 4 miles in 2nd gear can be oh so fun. I'm game. |

just got back from jersey again this afternoon so i haven't called them yet. probably try to call them fri or sat, not sure what their schedule is like. i have to get up to woodstock to pick up my race kit, maybe tommorow after work plan on asking about my bike (sure they'll clam up pretty fast). i can just here it now, "we didn't do anything to the bike". come to think of it i still have to send in my customer survey, think i'll wait to see what we find out first. |

The more the merrier. Camping and dinner available if you want to pay the rally fee ($30). I'm looking forward to checking out the little dragons (not to mention riding with someone who can keep up). |

Not into the camping thing but 30$ for food and drink not a bad deal. I'm in for sure.. Little dragons lol. Keep up ? 1st few times on 218 I was stuck in the 40 to 50 mph range and that was pushing it. Have picked it up a bit.. Saintly runs that sucker around 70. Cant wait to see the smile on your mug after a few runs through there. You'll be saying Hawks what? |

The rally sounds interesting! I'd like to try and make it. I rode up 8 to Rt.44 and then rode south on 7. Rt. 7 is a scenic ride through a few parks and towns. Think i'm going to take the wife and the dog up there for some R&R. When's the next time your going to ride 6 & 218? Wouldn't mind checkin it out. |

just rode 3 laps on 218. if sunday was supposed to nice i'd say come with us tommorow, but i think we're goin to be washed out. hammer, if it's decent out we'll ride if it's rainin i'll be workin on the house(it's 200 years old so there's always sumpin). there is a really nice bike lift in the harbor freight tools catalog for $299. it's a full size shop type lift, be awful nice for working on the bikes as well as a winter display of garage candy. |

was figuring you'd stop by around 8:15. never heard my redneck doorbell start barking so i guess it was raining pretty good when you left work. you'll have to see the polished ceramic coated muffler, pretty cool. it looks to be halfway between polished aluminun and chrome, nice. ran 218 a few times yesterday. the wind at the lookout was strong enough that the bike would not stay on it's kick stand without being held in place by hand, it actually blew my helmet over while sitting on the ground. wild. |

stopped by rockwell ducati on 9w yesterday. the salesman was "very" interested in the buell, full of questions and compliments for the bike. he was somewhat new to riding but it was still cool to pull into a place loaded with beautiful hardware and have the little buell steal the show. cool. |

Just got in 9:20 had good roll around with some guy this am. Tired and sore, would most likely have been a boring ride for you as i would have taken it easy. Have to get over and check that thing out and set up some ride time either during week or sunday. Or both. |
