Sounds like everybody gets reamed over tires... every motorcycle tire i've ever bought has been mounted free, while i wait, on the bike. maybe i'm just charming. |

I bought my Michelin Pilot Powers for $200 front and rear and Earl Smalls HD charged me $30 a piece to mount & balance on the bike. I think that was a deal. |

Posted on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 - 12:39 pm: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our local dealer gave up Buell, but thats a good thing....they never had parts and their service people weren't very good anyways. We go to Glendale now for parts or Biggs, though they won't deal on Buells at all. This has caused everyone to go elsewhere to buy them. The ONLY PLACE to get tires changed in California is CYCLE GEAR!!!!!!!!! For both tires(Dunlop 208,Pilot Roads or Sports or just about any other standard) and mounting is $250.00.....This is wheel off price and includes mount and balance. The Pirelli Scorpions and Diablos they want $270 to mount and balance. If you bring in your own tires they charge $25.00 to mount and balance.....even Chapparal can't do this as cheaply and Cycle Gears are all around. If your in SoCal go to Fullerton ask for Todd,in Laguna Niguel ask for Ken! |

CycleGear charges $11.99 per wheel, bring the wheels in. They will not take the wheels off the bike. |

Do it yourself, you pansies! And... as an added bonus!... you save unsprung weight! See, each time I mount tires myself on the garage floor with tire irons, I scratch the f*ck outta my rims, and get to polish the scratches out when I'm done, reducing unsprung weight! Haha! Never, ever noticed any ill effects from not balancing them, either. Sherm |

Nice Koot, I never thought of the level idea. With car tires, ya gotta dynamically balance but on a bike... Now who knows the rule-of-thumb, something about putting the yellow dot opposite the stem, or something like that? ...oops, found it on the site you linked. That's gold, buddy. Pure gold. Thanks |

Adamec H/D Buell charged a flat $30.00 a tire when I took them my wheels. I was well pleased at the price considering it was less than 45 minutes mounted, balanced, and out the door. After the price of a new muffler and some grip skins after my bike fell off the jack, I was excited to pay only $60.00. |

$57.00 on the bike. $25.00 off the bike at Illinois harley/Buell. I inquired about the michelin power pilots for the xb12r and they quoted $141.95 front, and $182.95 rear in stock and able to get them when you want. |
