I put some Crossroads bars and peg relocators on my 2000 M2 for a racier seating position and now the seat is killing me, right between the huevos rancheros and the waste disposal port..., ahem. I'd like to try a Corbin, but I'm not sure if it'll take care of the problem. Comments? Advice? Please discuss. | ||

It will make it worse. I have a Corbin and the seat actually makes you sit 1 to 2 inches farther back. this would cause you more pressure in a spot that should remail pressureless. I put the taller S3T bars on my bike and it is pretty comfy 2 up with the Corbin. I still prefer the stock seat when riding solo though. It has a much better feel. The Corbin makes me feel less attached to the bike because my legs don't grip the bike as well. | ||

Mmmi I have the gunfighter and lady model on my X1. Its comfy for riding, but its a pain to move around on. Also it takes a bit of getting used to, its wider than the stock "nut crusher". Its much firmer also | ||

I just did 200 miles on mine friday and my butt never got sore. However, The seat is almost to flat. (I really wish I could explain better) Look at your orginal seat, look at the curve from the passenger part to where the top of your bum would be. On the Corbin it's much more drastic almost a drop. So it puts you in a wierd position (not exactly bad) but your back will notice a difference when you try to sit flat. If corbin could build that part of the seat up just a bit more it would be perfect. If you want I can snap a pick of what I'm talking about. | ||

Is the corbin seat any lower than the stock m2 seat? so it makes you sit back farther? | ||

I have a corbin gunfighter/lady model on my x-1. the seat is not as soft as my stock seat and the way the seat is made I am a little futher back. it does solve the testicle smashing problem I had with the stock one, but the slightly set back position still makes it feel like my prostate is getting hit on long rides and over bumps. And my arms notice it more because I leaning on my bars more. I guess it is a trade off over the stock seat. Higher set bars would solve the problem like posted above so a person could set more straight up. My profile has the corbin on my bike. | ||

Tom_B...Thanks for the X1-Corbin scenario. FYI, I have a set of Triumph style bars with a 6" rise but am anxious to check out the dimensions of the XB12X bars as they sound like the perfect bend for me and my X1. | ||

Just put a corbin on my S1 yesterday, it definitely relieves the pressure point on my nuts but it gives the bike a very different feel, for real canyon blasting or track days I think I would prefer the stock seat but I may just need more time in the new saddle. | ||

What a great time for this thread to show up. Just got back from a 200+ mile ride with my g/f on the back of the bike. Everything was great except the seat, and I was wondering if the corbin would be better. The g/f feels like she is going to fall off the back and wants a sissy bar. Currently the back of her butt sits right where the seat touches the plastic. I'm worried that the corbins sissy bar will take away a couple of inches of seat space. Is this going to be a problem? | ||

No it won't take any of the seat room away, it just shifts the load further back on the bike. Which if you and your girlfriend have a combined weight of more than about 350lbs you may have a problem with the shock bottoming out. I have this problem when I ride anybody over about 140lbs. and hit some rough spots. | ||

I have bottomed out once or twice also with the saddle bags packed and wife on the back, but I stiffened my suspension a bit and it is pretty good now. | ||

I definitly have suspension issues when we are both on there. :-( I'm sure that together we weigh about 450. | ||

I purchased a seat from this guy off ebay and my wife really likes it. Has a bit of a lip on the back that keeps her backside on the bike. He apparently has a lot of these as I see he posts another one as soon as an auction clears. I paid like $167 and I've since seen 'em go for much less. I do have to say that the fit isn't perfect. Seems to be more of a gap between the seat and the bodywork, but fit is better between the seat and tank; pick you poison I guess. Actually i guess my wife and my weight combined is close to 375 lbs as I'm no fly weight and even though I love her, neither is my wife. Dj, this thread wouldn't have had my response as I rarely read the knowledge vault. | ||

I have a Corbin Gun Fighter on my M2. It has made a world of difference between it and the stock seat. The Corbin is harder, wider, taller and puts me farther back. With the stock seat I struggled last year to get back from VIR (175 miles). Now with the Corbin, I have ridden to Daytona (600 miles), Suches GA (450 miles), and Cincinnati (650 Miles). I just rode it to VA,NC,TN mountains and had a great time. I would recommend it for comfort. Jim, Kristi wanted me to tell you that she also felt like she was going to slip off the back of the bike with the stock seat. She says the Corbin solved the problem and its not even the Gunfighter & Lady seat, which I recommend you get. The only problem I had with the seat was fit on the bike. I had real problems getting the seat to sit down on the bike. After trimming the rubber stops on the bottom of the seat, I got the seat to fit right. | ||

I got the Buell accessory set, and it's kinda between the stock and the corbin. I can ride on it all day long. the stock feels good starting out,but doesn't last. The corbin doesn't work for my riding style.And I wouldn't have seen this question if it was in the "KV".....Charlie |
