Curt, Woz has a few spare bikes and knows Chris well. He'll be back from Tacoma tonight, and working tomorrow, but will be available for Saturday. Jim |

Panic, your question to me ("Is there some explanation you wish to offer in defense of that behavior?" ) assumes a lot of things, including that the officer in question actually said that in the first place. of course i can't defend "that behavior." nor would i. i also can't defend the idiots out there on motorcycles who ride like, well, idiots. i would never condemn YOU for something that you allegedly said and then e-mailed to someone, that was then e-mailed to someone else, that was then posted on an internet bulletin board. thank you for service as a peace officer. Whoa Nellie; deep breath everyone. More than enough animosity and grief in our little corner of the world (i.e. Badweb) lately as it is. This was only meant as a heads up to the locals - and in hindsight (20/20 dontcha know) that's all I should have written. But as explained above - this is no doubt born out of frustration and grief. During my time in the MP and ER I've witnessed my share of meaningless death, and remember clearly to this day the feeling; helplessness, grief, frustration. You're at your wits end and know that there is next to nothing you can do to prevent these things from happening. You'll consider grasping at straws - even stupid ones - to at least do something. Peace Henrik |

That did it. Two sisters in law arguing that the Paris Dakar ralley was some shame full event. Rich people riding through the poorest countries, robbing them from their spare gas, leaving a trail of dead people and cattle behind. After my extensive monologue, which did their arguments shrink to zero, I stated that I was proud to support the most intrepid (= characterized by resolute fearlessness, fortitude, and endurance) motorbiker to reach Dakar on his first attempt. The last statement was in fact not accurate: Mental support yes, but the pledge of money: Not yet. Made that good today via internet banking: Peter, Support from me AND my wife on your Bank account Pete2Dakar at Garijp. Hold on. Hans |

Good day everyone, this is Brian Cessna, live and in person at Prior's residence here in Dubuque. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back on the board, I am successfully recovering from my brain surgery, and my 2001 M-2 is back on the road just like it's owner. We are partying hard, drinkin beer, and trying not to get arrested, or do anything to bad to make living legends out of ourselves. OCBueller, it was a pleasure seeing you again this past summer, sorry I was not in the best of shape to bring the bike down with me. I will try to get down for bike week, but unfortunately Steve, I have college and many other obligations to fulfill. I will give you a call in advance to let you know what is happening. Jerry, I gotta shake your hand someday, sip a few suds, and grind a few pegs with you, it would be a pleasure. Prior is sharing his stories, and bringing back alot of memories I have lost since the surgery. We grew up together, if you all have the pleasure of meeting him, he will leave a long term impression on you. Once I get back to college, I am hoping to be able to keep up with the characters, pics, and adventures on this board. Bless you all, ride safe, Brian Cessna |

While out on the bike this morning I stopped to pick up the mail. In the post office a fellow walked up to me and asked if that was my Buell. When I said yes he told me that he had gone to High School with Erik. Said that while the rest were in study hall Erik spent most of his time welding and creating. the new Ulysses does not have a spark arrester as a stock item. Does any one know how to get one so that I can be in compliance with the forest service? I want to enter the AMA Red Rock national dual sport ride in the beginning of October. Thanks DAVE |

Cessna and I are alive and well, partied hard tonight and are having a good time. Ferris, will give you a jingle tomorrow. Steve, Life has me camped out in the midwest for now, still working on where life will lead me in the future. I miss OC, the sights, smells and the scenery very much. We'll see what happens in the future. Newfie, Screech will be out tomorrow night, the remainder will be along for FBART... |

Hello all, Unfortunately a couple of us that go to American Sport Bike Night can not make the ride on Saturday.... so we (myself and Skip) are going to run the route ourselves on Sunday (21st). We are planning to meet up at Alice's at 11:00 Sunday morning (closer for us to start from) and run the same loop, starting and ending at Alice's. Those others that may be interested in joining us, please do. Bob Mappes [bobup] XB9SX -------------------------------------------------- Sounds great to me - too many folks are unavailable Sat, so have at it. I hereby declare Gordon's 2nd Memorial Ride is 11am tomorrow, Sun 8/21, beginning [and ending] at Alice's. Curt |

I really regret that I have not been able to go to any of Gordon's remembrance services/ride. I am under a real work load right now that just doesn't allow me the time required. I hate it, but that's just the reality of it. |

well, since Denise has taken to calling Alex "Baby Bart," and since Alex is riding with me all the way from Appleton to Las Vegas, i actually thought "FBART" had a nice ring to it.

Prior just showed me some of the many Rad roads out here in the midwest, although it was by an S-10 and not on two wheels. I am hoping to get back up to speed, take some time off next summer and make the ride from PA out here then actually shake a few hands and meet the man who designed the bike that helps me find a little peace in myself, and brought us all together. Once I get back home and head back up to college, I will give some background in Tail Section, and how I am progressing. I am over my severe depression and am making good progress now, will share my story with you all in the next few weeks. Take care everyone, cant wait till the day I can actually get a few more extended trips to visit everyone at thier own stomping grounds. Brian |

Need some info on the BRAG logo for a patch. When putting the BRAG logo on the patch, do we HAVE to have it say BUELL RIDERS ADVENTURE GROUP, underneath the logo, or can we just have the BRAG portion and omit the small "type" of BUELL RIDERS ADVENTURE GROUP? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=37&post=501676#POST50 1676 We're looking at making a patch for C3 and I need to know this info in order to design this thing properly. Can ANYONE help with this? Thank You |

Csg_inc/Dave, That's a good question, and one I haven't heard/read being asked before about _any_ Buell. I'd be very surprised to see a spark arrestor show up in a Buell accessory catalog, it'd be very interesting to see though and find out how they approached the problem and solution. In the mean time you're best option would probably be to approach a local dirt bike shop and look into fabbing an interface between the stock exhaust and an aftermarket spark arrestor. You're going to have fun figuring out how to install one though. Right now I'm thinking an insert stuffed into the exhaust outlet, or maybe a welded-on extension of some sort. It's going to be an interesting challenge though, especially if you don't want it to negatively affect your performance. Please keep us posted on what you find out. Here's one possible approach: http://www.ctracing.com/ Just found this additional option: http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mcdirt/mcphotos/xr9.gif (Message edited by mikej on August 22, 2005) |
