So I'm walking up my front steps when my neighbor (female) says to me, "Hey I saw your cute little Buell parked outside the other day." Now, she rides a Kawasaki 750cc standard and her husband has an old CB750 as well as a late 80s BMW tourer - so they know bikes. This is one of many little jabs they've made about H-D and Buell. But to call my black as night, fire-breathing M2 with V&H pipe and Forcewinder snorkel cute? I was furious. I had a million things running through my head, but I bit my lip to remain neighborly. Anyway, I just had to vent. First post, by the way... |

Welcome to BadWeb, Bayview! No need to vent. I welcome pretty much all comments from the ladies about my bike and I've had my share! Just yesterday I was at a gas station and a woman says to me, "Nice bike!" Thanks, I say. And then she says, "My boyfriend has a Buell but yours is a better color." I just smile and nod but think to myself, "She just had to mention the boyfriend didn't she?" Anyway, I just had to vent! |

Relax Bayview...she actually wants you & the Buell. She's using "cute little Buell" as an opportunity to complement you, make small talk, and yet attempt to justify it. DAve |

your M2 sounds exactly like my M2... and while "cute" does not come to mind when i think of my bike, i suppose it's better than some of the things i've heard them called! |

I agree w/ Dave. Ask her to follow you to some twisty's and show how 'cute' it can really be. |

And what about my, then new, M2: "What a beautifully restored motorcycle: Looks like it comes right from the factory." Hans |

HAHA! A friend of my Dads who rides a Harley said to me"I hear you ride a Buell Blast" and then he laughed. I got very angry for a split second and calmly stated I ride a Cyclone even though he had no idea what a Cyclone was. He just started riding so he had no clue. Regards Mike |

There is no picture of the Cyclone in your profile so I really can't tell if its cute. Take it as a complement and move on!!!! By the way was she cute?......Maybe she was trying to tell you something. The best name I had on the Lightning yet was a gal on a CBR600 named my bike the "Saucy Biatch" and told me that she (the Lightning) was one hell of a nasty bike. She also asked "Does it Bite?" which my reply was "Only if you want it to!!!!" I wonder if she was trying to tell me something!!!!! That name has stuck on the bike ever since. |

well, you could be suffering from cute little bike syndrom. your not 6,8" and 280lbs are you? Its sort of like small mans syndrome.....you know where a 4 foot tall guy thinks he has to have an 20 foot tall truck with all the bells and whistles on it. Relax...... |

I guess it would depend on what she looked like. I wouldn't care what a hot chick called my bike...as long as she was talking to me. |

Good Bueller response - "Thanks, I like it too" Bad Bueller response - "yeah, it's almost as cute as your butt" |

Yes, I'm probably being overly defensive of my ride. Odd that I'd let something like that get to me. I guess it just goes to show how much we Buellers love our leaky old paint-mixers... |

Park your Buell next to that Kawasaki or Honda or BMW. It's little, as in physically small next to any of them. To her, little = cute. Don't sweat it; at least she's willing to talk to you. |

Sick Bueller response-"yeah, and it rides a little 'hard,' but that's just cause the suspension is 'stiff'. You really should see it go 'in and out' of the corners though. Wanna come in for a drink?" |

Sorry; I can't look at my M2 and see "cute" even if I squint. Especially if it's running. Some people thought the little Velociraptors in "Jurrasic Park" were cute, too. |

Sgtbuell, I have gotten that one, and a couple of years ago, I got one even worse. I had recently had my S1 fully repainted from top to bottom and emailed some pictures, of me riding it, to about 10 friends. One of my buddies sent a reply with no comment on the bike, so I emailed him back to ask; "what did you think about the bike pictures?" His reply was sent to all 10 people I had originally emailed and asked the question; "you know at the Circus?... that bear that rides around on the little bicycle?" Here is the photo that my friends thought was so funny. |
