FMJ, you are in luck. Check Dynatek Installation Guides for the model ignition module that you have. I just happened to look at the 2000-HD1 which was the unit I used to have on my FXRT and it is the complete installation manual complete with wiring diagram. Isn't this internet the greatest thing? Wade; welcome onboard. Given your background and the Buell people you've met so far, getting out of this Buell thing - well, fuggedaboutit Thanks for your service overseas. Did a stint in the MP (army) myself a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Good to hear you're coming back state-side soon. Henrik |

Wade -- first, thank you so much for your service (I enjoyed my tour in the Land of the Morning Calm, and hope you are, as well, but everything's relative, ain't it?) . . . as you've learned, this is a goofy joint, filled with goofy folks -- I'm sure you'll be able to find the scoot of yer dreams PDQ after DEROSing -- stay safe until that time, and then continue to stay safe, kay? |

Just got this from a friend by the name of Ray K from the Sportster bunch. Hey y'all - I don't know if any of you are following the ECTA list anymore - but, it's my sad duty to pass along that John Beckett had an accident and rolled his race car when he lost a tire @ 250MPH. He was airlifted from the salt, and reports say that he died enroute to the hospital. We've lost a good one fellas - God Speed Mr. Beckett. |

I think you all know, sounds repetitive but oh but for the grace of god there I go..... anyway I mean well and... hey Ebear got you for sure a nice ride or 2, gotta say even though i have spent at least a heck of alot and a\I bullshit you not I have really spent an equal amunt on my 98 tuber as I have spent on payments, this means $12,800 since i bought the bike new in 98. This is not a bullshit figure. I have copies of all bills. Destination hd is like my bikes 2nd home. If the owner of that place was not the best guy ever I would have been screwed. I do ride really hard and The mgmnt knew that. I really had probs before but now I know how hard Destination HD worked for me. I should have done the extended warranty, but I thought golly this is a handbuilt bike, gotta be good. I used to blame Buell/HD and know I know I was right. Hey Erik Buell, I live to ride I love my bike and my friends call me a fool, but they wonder when I totally rock them on rides... What I mean is I LOVE MY THUNDERBOLT!!!!! jc |

Gordon's memorial RIDE - Sat 8/20 - 11am sharp departure NOTE: Please arrive earlier than 11am, for social time and reminiscing. Our mournful, yet spirited, 80-mile tour will begin at exactly 11am. The start site is the Sempervirens Point Overlook, a roomy paved lot with a great view - one of Gordon's favorites. It's located approximately 2 mi. beyond the Saratoga Gap's Hiways 9/35 crossroads. After halting at the Gap's STOP sign, take Hiway 9 towards Boulder Creek/Santa Cruz. Once you've traveled about 2 mi., the wide-open Overlook appears on the left, along a straightaway, opposite the Chesebrough Boy Scout camp entry. After our 11am sharp departure, we'll return on Hiway 9 to the Gap; turn left onto Hiway 35 to Alice's Restaurant; turn left onto Hiway 84 to San Gregorio; turn left onto Stage Road to Pescadero; turn right onto Pescadero Road to Hiway 1; turn left onto Hiway 1 to Whale Bakery in Davenport for refreshments. Then we'll continue S on Hiway 1; turn left onto Bonny Doon Road/Pine Flat Road to Empire Grade Road; turn left onto Empire Grade Road to Jamison Creek Road: turn right, descending Jamison Creek Road to Hiway 236; turn right onto Hiway 236 to Boulder Creek; turn left onto Hiway 9 and continue back to the Overlook. Whether you're astride a bike or driving a car, please join us this coming Sat..... |

NY/NJ rider heads up; I just received this from a local guy who had received this email from a LEO friend. Apparently the LEO is stepping up enforcement on the Palisades Parkway: >>>>>>>> Joe, Spread the word to your motorcycle buddies, it's officially OPEN HUNTING SEASON ON MOTORCYCLES on the P.I.P. ---0--- Z E R O tolerance for anything on 2 wheels! We're tired of chasing bikes down and having crotch rocket jerkoffs almost killing people up there. If anyone runs, we're going to ram the bike. If we miss, we'll shut down the highway and punch guys off the bikes. If you don't slow down, we'll rub the rear tire with our bumpers. >>>>>>>>>> And here I thought the legislating, enforcing and judging powers were to be separate entities. Henrik |

Gordon's brother, Chris, needs a M/C for Sat ride At this point, we're unsure if either of Gordon's 2 remaining M/Cs ['84 GPz 550 & '95 S2] are dependably operable. Has anyone local got a trusty spare steed for Chris [MV 1000 & XLCR Cafe Racer]? Curt |

Henrik, send this link back to your friend for the officer who sent that email. Tell him he could be in a lot of trouble if he runs a motorcycle off of the road, because that is use of lethal force and it better be warranted. Running down a motorcyclist is the same as shooting an unarmed civilian in the back. http://americaniron.com/news.cfm?newsid=2124 BTW, I can't find anything on it now, but wasn't an officer in West Virginia convicted in a case like this? A motorcycle was speeding down a mountain and the officer pulled out right in front of the bike causing a fatal T-bone. The police force for the entire town had to be shut down. Henrik, is that reliable information? It seems unlikely that any LEO would actually write something like that down, even if it is unspoken department policy... rt |

r.t. yep, reliable info. The background story is that the LEO just got back from the third MC chase situation this week. I realize fully that the mail is written in the throws of frustration - another rider was killed in the area just this week as well. Bear Mountain and Harriman State Park become veritable "race tracks" during the weekends. I think the mail is more "chest thumping" than threat and/or dept. policy. Still, sounds like they've just about had it with riders up there. For local riders, it may be worth it to head out to Pocono or Catskills for their rides the rest of this season. No hate, just a heads up to the locals. Henrik |
