I was picking up the X1 after replacing the speedo sensor for the second time in 4 months from my dealer. I had some extra time so I thought I would see about a possible test ride on a Uly. There were none on the floor yet so I had to search out a salesman. I was informed that they would not be getting any Uly's at all because they would no longer be a Buell dealer as of Sept 30th. I live in central Iowa and real Buell dealers are very few and far between. They weren't a great dealer, but the best around. How many are we going to lose? |

Afdx1, there's a kit available to update that speedo sensor. Yeah...Birmingham, AL no longer has Buell dealership either. I feel your pain. Now the closest is about 2 hrs away in Huntsville. DAve |

Zook's in Des Moines is saying goodbye to Buell. Per one of their salespeople. Dave, let me know about the kit. I have looked into the homebrews, but haven't done anything yet. |

Lost two dealers in mid Michigan recently. My dealer, Saginaw Valley Harley, is giving up Buell. Great, now I have to find a good dealer, probably hundred or so miles away. One reason I bought Buell was the fact that while travelling I could find a Buell dealership in most areas. Now, I'm on my own. |

Although not ideal, the thinning of the bad/so-so Buell dealers will still be a good thing in the future. You would've been "on your own" anyway at most of the dealers giving up Buell |

i pretty much think daves is the only buell dealer in chicago. illinois harley, in berwyn, is good, and has alot of parts in stock. parts guy knew about the new models (and changes) the day after they came out. |

The culling of the herd is going strong. I am down to three choices and each will consume a day to get to and from. Ft. Smith, Memphis or Shreeveport Dave better ask for some more phone lines at the desk. Or some little elves that fit in his desk. |

We are having this problem in Canada also. Still one in my city but less and less all the time. I hope Buell really takes off and they tell those who gave up Buell to go jump in a lake when they ask for permission to sell again. Deep Lake. These dealers where never really into Buell anyway. They only half heartedly sold them at the best of times. My dealer sells a fair number but they have 2 Buell shirts in the store in stock. Wow what an effort. |
