Hm. I'd like one too, but I don't know what good it will do ANYONE if you can't plug the computer into the ECM port. Until there is a dongle available for it, the software is useless. |

Indy, his first post he says that you don't need the dongle, just the converter and cable that you need to source yourself. Kind of a do it yourself thing don't ya know. |

Hm well its a bit beyond my ability to create a cable to work with it. I guess that counts me out. I've been searching for a plug that would fit the ECM port for a while now.

Opto, I'm not worried about your bike. I'm concerned about those things known as "computer viruses" other malevolent computer programs. You may take executables from strangers and let 'em run no questions asked on your PC. I'm pretty darn averse to that. Data miners, and all manner of bad stuff is out there. Let us check it out please. If anyone receives a copy, please forward it to me before installing or running on your PC. |

I strongly second that. Blake takes a risk allowing untested software to be exchanged freely on this board. Let him check it out please. He does alot for us here, and it speaks volumes about him, the fact that he wants to check it before any of the members try it out. |

Blake, I haven't received anything, and have no idea if I will or not recieve anything. I'm used to the msefi board where progs are developed constantly and people are required for testing. I have 2 laptops that never connect to the internet and have nothing on them that can't be restored. However when it comes to H-D/Buell I suppose it's a whole new ball game. Some Aussies cracked the Triumph ecm code(tuneboy.com.au) Although X1diag says it will do no more than the VDSTS, it appears from the screenshot that it will read the AFV which would be extremely useful for many people. It would be really nice to know that the AFV hadn't maxed out after fitting a new pipe, or just to regularly check the AFV so that you knew everything was still running OK and within limits, or for tuning TFI. The possibilities are endless, for example a Palm could connect to the ecm and display all the parameters while riding along (this is what we are doing with MegaSquirt). |

ECM connector itself is included in the trouble shooter connector (goes for something like $15), available at our sponsors. |

On saturday he said: " ."Just some details : This soft works actually on my X1, XB will be the question. It doesn't have more possibilities than VDSTS. I don't think I will give the source code. It's not compatible with technoresearch dongle, but the final cable, with buell cannector can be use (this type of connector looks to be hard to find in market!). It will be available for free, I don't want to make any business with it, as soon as it will be tested. I think the first test versions will be send in one or two weeks, at least for X1 models. So please be patient. " See where he says "one or two weeks" & " So please be patient" So why is everyone surprised that they have not received anything yet? I always try to read ALL the post leading up to something It helps reduce the chance of me making an as s of myself. |

I read a little more than the post. Some guy no one knows, comes out of the blue and says he's going to give away something that people (working for money) haven't been able to crack. Sounds too good to be true. And you know what that means. He's made a grand total of two posts. The only reply to any questions has been, I'll not give the source code, and to wait two weeks. Call me suspicious. The way I see it, either he's full of it, or he's illegally cracking someone else's program. |

Well, IF he does come thru, and he DOES give it to EVERYBODY, then he's a better man than me! If I offered some valuable shi t for free and some ungratefull individuals crapped on me cause I didn't get it to them fast enough or cause I was new around here, I'd re-neg on my offer & not give you a damned thing. |

Well they are some out there that still do things for free. Like this... www.zigzagsoftware.com/zmoto.html Not that it's everyone's cup of tea but it took me over two years and God knows how many hours to create. Let alone $ for the software. I'm working on a new free program for Palm pilots for the PCIII which will be similar to what he is doing and allow you to tweak your EFI and much more. So...you never know. Opto - I thought we needed a wideband O2 sensor to get A/F values and that the stock type sensor is more of an on/off switch. |

Well when & if this does come available I'd like a copy. And if I need to build a cable I'd be glad to try. I just bought a bunch of software/hardware for tuning/OBD II scanning for my Jeep so something that worked on the bike would be COOL!! |

Hi Jersey, I was referring to AFV (adaptive fuel value), the supposed ability of the ecm to adjust the whole fuel map between %88 and %115 by monitoring the narrow-band O2 sensor in cruise mode. If we could read that value it would be of immense benefit, with the other hardware it can only be reset to %100 (I think). Say you're trying to tune in your TFI, it runs great at first but then not so good, it would be great to be able to check the AFV to see if it has shifted. On top of that it would be a good indicator to check on the bike's "health" from time to time. How cool would it be to have an LCD readout of the AFV in the dash? In my dreams maybe |
