Hello, This is a soft that I developped, with the following capabilities : - display current sensors values (included O2 sensor), - ignition timings - current AFV - trouble codes - Reset trouble codes, TPS, AFV - test coils, injectors, pump... It is very similar to VDSTS, exept that you don't need any dongle, but a simple TTL/RS232 converter (to convert from ECU 0/+5V to RS232 -9/+9V). You can found example here : http://www.awce.com/rs1.htm http://www.digitalnemesis.com/catalogue/default.htm It works on slow computer (tested on a P2 266MHz 64MO), with Win98, 2K or XP, and also with USB to RS232 adapter. It was developped on a X1 bike, and not yet tested on XB models (but it should work). For more informations, please email at : x1diag@hotmail.com |

Can you use the VDSTS dongle/connector thingy if you already have it and would like to use this software instead? |

Ok, it's free, so how do we get it? And how do make a cable for it to connect to the bike. Awesome. |

Are you releasing code under an open source license? Or are you selling the software? Cool news! |

Just a note here.... no accusations or anything... but this account was created and used at the same time, and there is not much other information here. Until we learn more, tread carefully... |

X1Diag, I don't see the software for download anywhere. If you need a place to host the file, I can provide you with that and post up a link here. PM me or email me - admin at buelltiful dot com. Any chance you will enhance it with datalogging capabilities? |

If X1diag is offering to share his software at no charge, then all is fine. I'd sure like to hear back here from anyone who gets a response from X1diag, who doesn't list a name, registered just today, and is asking folks here to contact him if they are interested in his software. I sure hope X1diag is offering to share his software at no charge. That would be extremely cool. |

I'm a little confused about the cabling. Neither of the two websites he listed show a connector that will fit the ECM input plug. Am I missing something? |

Looks like the title says "Free". I dropped him a note and think it's cool and very very generous! A day will come when generosity is returned. I got some very cool items from a Bueller in Norway, someone in England acquires a NOS XR1000 timing cover, Bueller in KS gets peg springs, rider in Norway gets Buells parts....DAve in IL gets some very cool S1W spec sheets from "...remind me to tell you." Thanks! What goes around comes around. DAve (Message edited by dave on August 12, 2005) |

D'OH! Imablindfool. X1diag, please email to me a copy of your software. The raw code and the executable would be most appreciated. I'm sure it is fine, but to protect the BadWeBrs, we would like to verify first. Thanks, Blake |

Indy, the 2 websites show examples of what type of cable is required. I think X1diag is offering the software but doesn't want to know about the cable. The cable will not be a problem, that can be nailed in no time flat. (Message edited by opto on August 13, 2005) |

Blake, I appreciate your concern to protect BWBers, but I'm quite capable of taking responsibility for my own bike. Someone's XB ecm has to be the guineau pig and I'm willing to try it. I'll let you know what happens. |

Thanks to all of you for your interest to my work. Blake, I understand your mistrust, and I a agree with the fact to send it to one or two peoples first, so that it can be tested. Just some details : This soft works actually on my X1, XB will be the question. It doesn't have more possibilities than VDSTS. I don't think I will give the source code. It's not compatible with technoresearch dongle, but the final cable, with buell cannector can be use (this type of connector looks to be hard to find in market!). It will be available for free, I don't want to make any business with it, as soon as it will be tested. I think the first test versions will be send in one or two weeks, at least for X1 models. So please be patient. |
