Does the special ops pipe make a lot popping when slowing? I listened to a sound clip in the knowledge vault and I hear some, just wondering what it sound like on the bike. |

Vaxb, that may be my sound clip. i just threw the pipe on with a K&N and no snorkel and had some pops on decel. I've since added a TFI which has allowed me to clear up the popping a little. I'm still tweaking my settings but one of my really good last runs had no popping at all, so it is curable. I wouldn't say it pops 'a lot' but it did pop without any other fueling mods. pretty mild though, nothing overly annoying. i've heard a few guys run the O.P.S. without any other mods and plugs look good. |

Mine pops a little, but its not too bad. The only thing I have done with it is desnorkled it, and added a cut 12 airbox, and the Special Ops. (Message edited by indy_bueller on August 11, 2005) |

mine pops a little also. but i think it adds to the bikes attitude. for the record, all i did was put the pipe on and nothing else.over 10k miles with it like that, with no problems. lonexb |

Mine pops less then the factory race exhaust on the XB9s I did a demo ride on. Pulls harder also, especially at the low end. Probably louder as well. The only time I noticed fierce popping was on a long downhill section two up with my wife. I just pulled the went up one gear and used more brake. |

Mine popped a little even with the TFI. I then installed the race ecm and it has not popped once since then. Great pipe!! |

Drift, whats your current setup then? Race ECM, no snorkel, fully cut inner airbox and K&N? What did you do about the valve still being intact? lock it open? Curious because I was thinking of trying the same thing if I ever locate a cheap race ECM but wondered about the valve being closed all the time since the ECM won't control it any longer. |

Race Ecm, no snorkel, fully cut inner airbox, K&N, Tfi, and I have a 9S so I didn't have to worry about the valve. But with the special ops pipe on the 12 the valve stays intact. |

ah, sorry Drift, didn't realize you had a 9. i looked at your profile (only focused on mods) and thought you switched from TFI to race ECM but you run both. got it. thnx. |
