The thieves probably drove it to a barn or shed in the general area, unloaded the contents, then dumped the truck by the roadside. If the driver had the mileage written down (most drivers do in their logs, assuming the log book isn't also missing) they may be able to compare the lost to found mileage and come pretty close to how far it went. Then driving down various roads someone should be able to find broken branches in trees and heavy tire marks on dirt roads to find where they went. There's probably even some debris stuck to the trailer top to identify what sorts of trees and brush they hit which may help pinpoint where they are if the remnants are localized. Years ago a California agency was able to identify the near exact place and time a poacher took a deer just by the plants in a photo. But I'm certain someone is already checking all this stuff. Omaha ain't all that big. Get 'em. |

The Truett-Osborn bike drags are next week, it draws a lot of people from a lot of places and Omaha is only 6 hrs from here {Wichita}. I'll keep my eyes open and wrote down both phone numbers. Has the Nebraska Bureau of Investigation been notified, or will the FBI be notified? If any of this stuff leaves Nebraska it becomes a federal crime, due to interstate shipment of stole property. I feel for you, I wouldn't know what to do, go look for someone to kill or just cry. |

draw a 27 mile radius circle around that Motel and start the hunt. Oh, and draw the same circle around where the truck was found. Then concentrate on the overlap. In this instance Sat/GPS tracking would have been of little use. Truck did not go very far, was emptied and dumped in the open. All in a relatively short time frame. Sounds like a very efficient/organized taking |

Vic, Matt and the whole Guidera family are wonderful people. And own a great Buell dealership. What an incredibly cool thing to do. May the dirty dogs who stole G2's stuff go down hard soon. |

G Squared Motorsports Race Equipment Partially Recovered Team to Race at Brainerd BRAINERD, Minn. (August 9, 2005) – G Squared Motorsports is elated to announce the recovery of most of the critical racing components stolen last week in Omaha, Neb. George Smith reported, "We are still sorting out the extent of the success. Although we're missing all of our tools, the golf cart, two pit bikes and many other valuable items, we wish to report that the NHRA Pro Stock motorcycle, three S&S Pro Stock engines and assorted spare parts, a new complete Kosman Buell rolling chassis, and the “Gangster” motorcycle are back in the possession of G2." The police investigation is ongoing and they will continue to try to locate the remaining missing items. "Over the weekend, due to intensive police work, local law enforcement authorities recovered one of the S&S Pro Stock engines and the modified 2004 Dyna Superglide street bike", said Smith. "Then on Monday, August 8th, key bikes and parts were anonymously returned to G Squared. We don't know any of the details, but we're really happy to have the G Squared S&S Pro Stock race bike and engines back." "We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the Omaha and surrounding area law enforcement agencies, the media and many individuals throughout the country that have assisted with this recovery." Chip Ellis, G Squared team member and rider of the G2 S&S NHRA Pro Stock motorcycle, has spent the last week in Omaha trying to recover the racing transporter contents. Said Ellis, "I want to thank the Sarpy County Sheriff’s office and the Iowa Highway Patrol - those guys have been great and gone out of their way to help us out. I especially want to thank Chris Rueter (local resident and former NHRA Pro Stock racer and friend of the Bryce's) for letting me stay at his house the past week and taking good care of me and driving me all over the area looking for the rig and it’s contents.” George Bryce thanked their many supporters, "Due to overwhelming support and help from our contacts on the internet, the NHRA, law enforcement personnel, our competitors and all our friends around the country, we have recovered about 75% of our racing equipment. I also want to thank Chip Ellis for hanging in there. This probably has been the longest and most frustrating week in Chip’s life, but he didn’t give up and his commitment to our team really paid off." Bryce continued, "G Squared and Chip Ellis will attend NHRA Brainerd as scheduled. We had accepted Rocklin Harley Davidson's gracious offer to use Matt Guidera’s bike, but will now explore the possibility of racing out of our own rig. We're still missing a lot of stuff and we've got to take inventory and figure out the best way to proceed. Since the thousands of dollars worth of tools that we’ve accumulated over the years are gone, for example, we have to come up with a plan on how to service the bike once we get to the track. We still have a lot of work to do to get the race team operational again." Jackie Bryce summed it up, "I feel like a miracle has occurred and our prayers have been answered. This season has been an emotional roller coaster - Ken Johnson's devastating injury, the theft and recovery of our transporter, and now the return of the Pro Stock bike and engines. Throughout it all, we've received constant calls and e-mails of support and encouragement. The offer to help from the other teams shows you how great the racing family is. We still have a lot of rebuilding to do, but we will all pull together and be stronger than ever.” QUALIFYING: Qualifying for the NHRA 24th annual Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minn., gets underway for G Squared Motorsports team owners, George Bryce and George Smith, and Chip Ellis, driver of the G Squared S&S Buell, with two sessions on Friday, scheduled for 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. Qualifying concludes with two additional sessions on Saturday, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Ellis begins his quest for the Pro Stock Motorcycle title on Sunday with eliminations for all classes getting underway at 11 a.m. All times are local Brainerd time -- Central Time (CT): 1 hour behind the Eastern Time zone -- and subject to change at anytime. TELEVISION: Qualifying highlights for the 24th NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals can be seen on ESPN2 HD on Saturday evening (Aug. 13) from 8-10 p.m. The qualifying show repeats on ESPN2 HD early Sunday morning (Aug. 14) from 12:30 – 1:30 a.m. ESPN2 HD will also air three hours of same-day television coverage of eliminations beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening (Aug. 14). The elimination show repeats on ESPN2 HD early Monday morning, Aug. 15, from 2:30 until 4:30 a.m. Also, tune in to NHRA2Day on ESPN2 HD, the weekly show that gives you the latest information about the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. NHRA2Day can be seen on Sunday morning, Aug. 14 at 11:30 a.m. Television times are Eastern Time (ET) and subject to change at anytime. Check local listings. |

"I second that, great job by the police. BUT How do you "anonymously" give back 3 pro stock S&S engines 2 bikes and a rolling chassis?" That's what I was wondering as well. I've had some built-up anger for like the past 2 years and have been making a list of who I'd like to take it out on. These theives rank right up there with the guy who screwed over my childhood friend and the cold calls from the east-coast stock brokers. |

No arrests, "anonymously" given back, sounds fishy, can't wait to hear the "rest" of the story. |

"How do you "anonymously" give back..." Put it somewhere and make an anonymous call to the media. It's been done that way before. The media maggots will go along with anything to get some air time. Jack |
