So I got a cyclone and it came with a lot of extras. It's got a kuryakyn hypercharger intake, along with a super trapp exhaust and the owner said it had been jetted. I just would like to know the best setup on the disks and maybe the jets. I opened the pipe up and found 22 disks and no baffle in there. Is this benificial? I took it down to 15 and noticed a lot less sound. I guess I don't have much top end at all. when I get closser to the redline it's almost like it sounds like air is blowing back out the intake...maybe not but it just sounds really airy. Can someone give me a couple setups on the disks and jets and what they'll give me like a bunch of low torque or a lot of high end and a good medium. This would be greatly appreciated. Joel |

lose the entirely useless and detrimental hypercharger. in fact, lose anything named after man from u.n.c.l.e characters. seriously, that hypercharger is going to give you some major inversion and mixture-flux issues. just put a nice buell race airbox on it, or any stock round or, better, hamcan HD filter/box. if you need one, i can get 'em cheaply. |

I kind of had a feeling that it was just for looks and not so much for good performance. How about setup w/ disks and jets? |

Bon -- jets -- 185 - 200 main . . . 45 (usually) or 48 (rarely) low . . . start the low pseed screw at 2.5 turns out from fully seated, and go from there disks, can't help ya, no dierect experience -- check the KV exhaust area for that data Tramp -- good shot on the U.N.C.L.E. thing ;-} |

bombs- that was the most concise and neutral explanation of good jetting i've sen to date. i'll use any proiducts named after characters from 'the prisoner', but man from u.n.c.l.e?....robert vaughan just got too weird when he started doing those hair commercials in the '80s.... |

Tramp, You never did have one of those convertible man from uncle guns as a kid did you? Transformed from like a walkie-talkie into a machine gun? Now that was cool! And the walkie talkies we had as kids, could send and receive like 10 feet with fresh batteries and some aluminum foil on the antenna. Those were the days... I was a little p-oed about the hair potion and never did get my refund..Den |

I have received loving guiance (read, poke in the eye with a stick) from the wimmen in my family, stating that concisness is a virture for which I should strive -- since they most always right (in addition to being pretty and smelling nice), I've taken their adice to heart, and attempting to reign in my natural prediliction for rambling in a Joycian manner, with a small amount fo Kerouac throw in for good measure -- The Prisoner really spoke to my inner acid freak -- it cheered me greatly to see someone turn a mental condition into a revenue stream (along with, of course, George Carlin) Robert Vaughn always gave me the creeps -- but then, I am easily frightened |

yes on the radio-gun... and yes, patrock mcgohhan certainly seemed to have a sort of snicker about him, nodding to the double entendre of the psychedelic aspect of his character. i mean...that final episod....bowler-dreby-clad feinds with automatic weapons shooting to the soundtrack of the beatles' "all you need is love"....small wonder "The Ruttles" came about, eventually.... kind of a clockwork orange meets finnegan's wake scenarion, with neal cassidy riding away over the surf on that big, gharish hunter-baloon thing.... |

Back on topic...... I run 15 discs in my Supertrap on my M2. I also have use the open end cap. Bone stock motor with the race CF ham can, it put down 79+ HP at the rear wheel. Not too loud but a nice sound. I use the packing from American Sport Bike in mine. The more discs you add, the more you loose on the bottom and gain on the top. Aaron posted some dyno pulls a while back. They're in the KV somewhere. Brad |

Kuryakin seems to be mostly shiny+useless things. I'm sure that you can find SOME things of value that they sell but generally speaking, their stuff is aimed more to the "lawn ornament" crowd. |

I ve been looking for a new hypercharger. apparently I should stay away from the kurkyen items, but are there any other hyperchargers like Pro Series that are suggested? how about buell race air boxes, are they as freakishly huge as the stock air box? I just want performance and a cleaner, trimmer looking bike. thanks. |

The Carbon Fiber Pro Series air cleaner is a good solution to A/C issues. It uses the K&N filter for great lifetime filteration, has a good "line" and most of the time, depending on your height, clears your right knee. Good Luck |

The current wisdom on hyperchargers is that they should be removed from the country entirely. Ship it to Sportyeric in Canada for disposal in a toxic waste dump. I think you guys are dumping a little hard on the thing. It's not on my shopping list but I'd try one on the Sporty if one fell into my hands. Granted, they don't flow quite as well as a race kit oval. There is a spacer available to put a wider filter in it, I think. I saw some flow charts or dyno runs comparing filters. Probably here in the KV but I'm not gonna try to find it. Experiment with the disks. That's the biggest variable. I received my S2 with 15 discs and an open end-cap. I changed that to 12 and a closed endcap. Little difference below 5500 but cleaned up a flat spot around 3000. |

Hyperchargers close on vacuum; not open. The little vacuum dingus pulls the flapper shut; God knows why. High poser points, not a good value for the money (although not as bad as the horrid big chrome V-looking thing they sell), and bad for slobbering wetting the pant leg. |

You guys are freakin me out. Whenever I see the phrase "double entendre" I flash back to 1969 when my most common pursuits were watching the Banana Splits and learning new cuss words. Oh, and speaking of thread hijack... |

A woman walked into a bike shop and asked for a double entendre air cleaner so the clerk gave it to her. |
