WOW! Sounds like a fun trip. I wish I could get the time off. I think that we should come up with some suggestions for the name of the new BRAG chapter...Central Arizona Owners sounds way lame. Any ideas? Maybe something with a cool acronym? Howse about "BRAGAZ" or "BRAGADE"... |

Why are you glad you moved from AZ? My aunt has lived in NM FOR 20+ years. the only thing keeping here there is the job. your environment is what YOU make it. this is why I stay, good friends and fun rides. Carey would have been in this pic but somebody had to work the camera. And here is the damaged SV Hope you enjoy NM Bart and get well i heard you have been sick. Jeremy, I moved from Arizona because it's just too dang hot, for too long during the year. The winters are great, but the fall and spring isn't long enough. I lived in Las Cruces NM for 16 years. I finished my career in the Marines there, I worked at NASA there, and I owned and ran a bike shop there. When I sold my bike shop, I decided to move to Arizona to get back into the electronics industry and finish my college education. Well, my education has been done since 2000, I guess the only thing that kept me around was the money. But money isn't everything. I havn't had a very good year, between my health issues, and a serious lack of riding, I felt it was time to hit the road, meet new people, ride new roads. It's the wanderlust in me. The benefit of being single, and retired. I've always loved riding the rockies, and would live in Colorado if it wasn't so cold, but New mexico is close enough to be a few hours away, and a heck of alot warmer. As for being sick, it's something I'm doomed to live with. I was diagnosed with Stills desease a few years back while living in Tucson. It strikes at least once a year, sometimes twice a year. It usually takes about a month or two to get over it, and then I'm fine until the next attack. In the meantime, it is also giving me terrible artheritus, and I'm not sure how many more years I'll be able to enjoy riding. Sooooo, I plan to get in all the riding I can before the 'ol joints freeze up on me. I'm still planning on doing a second Ridefest in September over HWY191 again, it will probably be the weekend of the 17th and 18th. Since I'll be coming from New Mexico I'll be meeting you guys in Springerville, if any of you make it. You guys have fun over there, try not to fall as often, and PLEASE check your bikes BEFORE you go out on a ride. Ride with a level head, and within your abilities. We'll make an effort Bart. Don't be a stranger. Let us know which storm fronts (if any) you end up in so we can drop a line in when we make it over to the 191. How far from the 191 are you over there? |

Springerville is about the same distance from Albuquerque as it is from Phoenix. I'll be hanging on the New Mexico thread hear as soon as I wake up a few of these guys. Also at (ziathunder.com) that is the website for the Santa Fe BRAG chapter. I finally got a reply from one of the locals, we're both going to the Colorado ride together it looks like. the following weekend after the Colorado BRAG ride, CHICKS HD/BUELL here in ALB is going out on HWY191. It's the 26th, 27th, and the 28th of August. It is the local BRAG groups ride. I'm not sure of their itinerary, I'll look into it if you want to meet them somewhere along their route. I won't be able to make it since I'll just be getting back from a weeks vacation in Colorado, and I'm still new with the company here. From what I here from the one guy I've talked to, they are not very outgoing here in NM. I think I might just have to change that. This may be why I havn't seen much conversation on the thread. But then again, the AZ thread was dead until Brian and I started riding together, then it just exploded with Buell riders from all around, and look at it now. A regular gossip column! he hehe LMAO "We just wanna be free, free to ride our machines, and not be hassled by the man" |

Bart, I'm sure you know this but in case you don't, Intel is going to build another freaking -HUGE- fab! I'm thinking of coming out of retirement -IF- the position and money is spot on -MY- terms. BTW, do you know CJ Rodden in NM? They ride quite a bit (Buells of course, when time allows). If you don't, I have his e-mail address. Good luck, -SD: |

Bart, Phoenix sucks ... you've love it in NM! I worked at Sandia Labs years ago. Anyway, back to Intel, they -MUST- meet my terms, I don't need a job. I know the conditions there very well. <smile> I've worked for Intel for several years off and on as a consultant, as far back as the first plant here on the old Williams Field Road. Worked at MOS-17 in China, and all the Motorola plant here. Good luck, -SD: |

Yep ... that's true. There's going to be a butt-load of money to me made (by Union Tradesmen) on that puppy -IF- it goes. They are indeed breaking ground but you never know what could happen. They had another one scheduled before 9/11 but they put a hold on it for nearly 2 1/2 years (it's just about complete, in the tool hook-up phase now). For the hell of it, what are you doing for a living now ... how much do you make (hourly, salary, benefits etc.). If you don't want to reply here, shoot me an e-mail. -SD: (Message edited by smokedaddy on August 04, 2005) |

I'm reasonably certain I'll be there Carey. I haven't made reservations or anything but the money looks good and the time is available. There's no reason for me to NOT go... Especially if I have room in a truck/trailer to get there. |

Charlie: The other thread will be more of the organizational thread of upcoming BRAG rides, events and general ????'S. I believe the name will suit a larger variety of riders (non buell owners) to be a part of something they didnt previously belong to. They will be able to see that Buell owners are a special breed of riders that enjoy the lifestyle just as much as the next guy or gal. Later J |

I just got back from Chandler HD. I had to take the City X in for its 5K service. I forgot to make an appt. earlier this week. I called Andrew this morning and asked if I could possibly get in tomorrow...he said that I could bring it in today and it would be done by the time they closed up shop! HOW'S THAT FOR SERVICE!!! |

Like I said J, I'm coming around to the name. You're right though; it does not sound exclusive which is good. BTW, I forgot to mention that I've been to Chandler on two occasions, once for service, and both times my experience was better than any other dealership in the valley. On the service side prolly tied with the Scottsdale location... I'm glad though, Chandler is my most direct route via dead cow road!!! |

I'm sure a lot of you have heard about Jerry's XB12X tour... Who wants to head to Vegas Thursday night, ride across death valley Friday and stay at Jerry's place, then ride south (through some VERY sweet roads, I've been there) to Ocotillo Wells (just west of the dunes I think) and party Saturday night. We'll ride back here Sunday... Anyone? Carey... I know you wanna go... You too Kobie . |
