Steve, If you lightning is a tuber, I build extended swingarms for tube frame Buells based on the old square tube swingarm. Haven't done an XB yet but may try in the near future... /image{buell} |

Weston, you're not soliciting business without being a sponsor are you? Or are you offering free help and or a free swingarm? |

Spike, It looks like all the 06 bikes are sporting the same redesigned swing arm. I believe the frame is where the extra 2" come from. |

Little, Actually, it appears to me that the swing arms are not only different from earlier models, ( they are sourced from a different company) but close examination shows that the S and Ss swing arms are slightly different, the Ss being slightly longer. The Ss is the one on the right. |

The belts are different length. I am also pretty sure that the extended version can be found on the Ulysses. |

Ok, so, someone humor me... What is the big deal witht eh extended swing arm, especialy if its rigid? If I want another rigid, I will build another chopper. Seriously, I can see the drag racing purpose, but I can get a set of wheelie bars...oh wait, have some, just have to retro-fit them to the bike... Anyone? Chase |

I would think that the extended swingarms for the tube frame's would change the amount of leverage or force that the shock would have to deal with. I could be wrong... just been thinking about it since the picture was first posted. longer swingarm = longer lever from pivot. would the suspension travel be increased for any given "bump" will the new 06 belts work with the tuber sprockets so that you could use an extended swingarm and not have to switch to a chain? |
