Pammy: You should, of course, be able to post any way you want. However, you may or may not have enough BadWeB status to get away with it. If you're a moderator you can certainly get away with posting anonymously. If you're a high placed insider at BMC you can post anonymously. If you're simply a good person that call's things as you see 'um in the world of Buell you're skating on thin ice. Give it a try. One of the moderators will contact you and explain the facts of BadWeB life if you haven't achieved the proper status for anonymousness. Saving that, they will just delete your post. Either way, you'll figure it out soon enough. Love ya, Ray |

Let's make this simple. If you like Buell, then buy it. If you don't, then buy something else. Duh, leave it to a woman to make the most sense !! Good post pammy !! CJ |

Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way. Maybe Buell is leading the way in the redemption of our beloved old lump. More and more I see peoples' attitudes change towards Buell and the old paint shaker between the frame. I would never ask for a motor to compete with the big 1000cc bikes but a motor that can compete with most modern 600's. That is all I would ever ask for. |

Can we get this straight please!!!! Burgers are supposed to be cooked on those 'mean lean grilling machine' thingys aren't they? You can tell Pammy spends too much time in the workshop otherwise she'd know that. After all a real woman knows her place is in the kitchen - or she should.......................................................................... ......keep on running................................................................................ ................running fast................................................ RIGHT THAT'S IT I'm not doing the Buell v Ducati shuffle. I'm just so lucky to own both and the reason I still want to is more to do with them offering totally different experiences when you ride them. Ultimately you simply cannot compare these two bikes at all. They are both great fabulous extremes in their own right. I do have one regret where the 916 is concerned. I had to sell the RGV250P to fund the 916. That RGV was good enough to keep just as an ornament it looked that good - and she were a two-stroke! Pammy, just for you xx Rocket |

Here is a list of the motorcycles I have owned that had enough power: Cushman Eagle (dubious motorcycle quals) Triumph Thunderbird Hodaka Ace 90 Honda 90 Montesa King Scorpion Bultaco Alpina Kawasaki KX-400 (model right?) Yamaha XT500 Honda Super 90 Honda Trail 90 Buell Cyclone as it happens, I still own the last three, and they still have enough power. :> Jack P.S. - Anyone seen a nitrous oxide setup for Honda 90's? I'd like to improve my times on the run down to the mailbox and back. |

Rocket, that's right! You can cook both sides at the same time. Even better...like cooking with more HP! And I spend WAY too much time in the workshop. All these motorcycles, go fast parts, and machinery...It's a tragedy really,. No one should have to live like this...BWAHAHA "Pammy, just for you xx" Right back atcha, sweety. As far as the anonymous deal. I have absolutely zero inclination to post as someone other than my own self...especially as no one. It was just part of my lighthearted(lightheaded?) banter. |

"can I post as pammy?" I allowed one of my customers to post (in my name) one time, years ago and strangely enough it started a little war, involving my anatomy and the type of underthings I might be prone to wear....so unfortunately I must decline your request. (Keep in mind, I realize that YOU are joking as well.) |

Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way. Maybe Buell is leading the way in the redemption of our beloved old lump. More and more I see peoples' attitudes change towards Buell and the old paint shaker between the frame. Every time I start my 'Bolt I love & get turned on by it more and more. The juxtiposition ever more special. Invoking the feeling that any other engine in this bike would be akin to un-American and disrespectful to EB's accomplishment(s). |

A Honda CR500. That'd be a fun and terrifying bike to own. |

A four hundred horsepower GSXR 1K turbo would be about right. I think. I'll let you know when its finished. |

"I never complained about 4.5 HP. . . ." Did you ever ride one of those? The twistgrip throttle rotated the opposite direction of modern motorcycles. That could be pretty exhilerating if you thought it worked the other way. I ran into a tool shed with one in a buddy's back yard somewhere around 1956 or so. The kickstarter (stepstarter?) used a rubber shoe heel screwed to the floorboard as a stop. But the Eagle, now that was a ride! Had a real transmission (two speeds, use was optional unless you were in a hurry) and a hand shift lever alongside the tank just like "real motorcycles". http://www.hobbytech.com/Homepage~pix/MVC-576S.JPG Jack (Message edited by jackbequick on July 28, 2005) |

Snail, I hope it holds together for you and you cream the existing record... then ride it to Laguna Seca next year. |

I've never owned a bike that I considered to be underpowered, except when I raced... and that was when I was a youngster..... |

Heck with that....Those little 4hp scoots are freekin dangerous. I would rather be on a turbo busa with no brakes, then on one of those lil demons. My first real accident was on my Aunts Honda Passport. Poor thing never did look the same with a bent up metal basket on the front. |

Maybe an "ambiguous" option is needed that would put up a blurry picture and a broken description of the poster. |
