These are for Reep showing some of the stuff my Rebel can do. I have not even figured out the really good stuff yet.   The above two were taken hand held with a 300mm Canon telephoto lens. This is from my back door at my Summer House  My middle boy running on the beach.  Cape Spear looking in at the lights of St. John's 30sec exposure on tripod  Oldest Boy in the water falls  Middle boy in action once again. | ||

to bad my digital rebel had an unfriendly meeting with the road at the same time as my arm, I despreately miss it alot. My roomate has the 350D Rebel XT but it is too small for my hands. | ||

How much to get the Rebel repaired? I have't gotten an accurate quote, anywhere from $300-$600 + the cost of the lense. | ||

That sucks. I believe they are occasionally going on EBay for under $600, sometimes with lens. Still have the same postman that trashed your DVD's? Insure that bad boy and ship it somewhere...  | ||

Reep apparently I do, as a money order I mailed out to a fellow badwebber at the first of the month, came back last friday trashed. Apparently they just don't feed their sorting machines often enough around here and they take it out on innocent letters and small packages. Its really starting to •••• me off. | ||

I like long hair. That's cool you're not a mean Dad and make him cut it. My long hair helps keep me warm. Maybe that's why he has it long since you live at the North Pole. | ||

OK, you baited me too far... The Nikon Coolpix 950, with the fisheye adapter, is practically ancient in digital camera years, but still delivers very good results. I just wish it would give the same results with 2 or 4 stops less light, and with less pixel noise. Like the Rebel.  | ||

I love the super wide angle, as I can combine foreground and background images in very interesting ways. Much better for telling stories (like the one above). Audrey was literally 4 inches from the lens, the rest of the family 7 feet or so away. | ||

What lens did you use for your moon shot? Sorry Bill I missed this, I used a 75mm-200mm f/2.6 Canon Digital lens. | ||

I just got the 990 back yesterday, another repair, and even with the D100 the Coolpix 990 is without peer for close-ups and special situations. Vickie's using it this week to do a home inventory thing for insurance and the lens on the D100 makes it essentially impossible to use whereas the 990 excels. The D100 however does have it's saving grace and that's the high speed drive by......    Enfields to BSA...very "Billybug" to ride an old Euro Scoot- 07.27.05    | ||

Newfie...you have to do it both on your own and with your family. Just so much to go, see and do in the area that you will be overwhelmed. I lucked out and spent a lot of time there on business during my career and really praise my sales reps for taking the time to show me the sights and still get a feel for the neighborhoods. Remind me to tell you about the time I got thrown out of Low Ferrigno's (The Incredible Hulk's. Hope I spelled that right) gym in Brooklyn. My boss will never forget it as I was on the phone to him in So Cal at the time. LOL |
