About a week to go!!! BuellieDan and I are driving up together either Sat or Sun, this should turn out to be a great trip, can't wait!! Rocco, any thought on how everyone can get together or commmunicate with each other about each days routes and rides etc... Maybe over coffee or breakfast at Fontanna Village or something like that. |

That works. I'll have an E-Z UP with a big Buell Banner hanging there. Stop by the cabin if there is a Black 12S & a Black Blast. Meet at the restaurant there, or at the Crossroads of Time too. There is also a Texaco Gas Station at the entrance to the Village. Will figure something out. |

I'm going try to make it. Watch out for the squids and the import car clubs. The local police have been told to give no warnings, only tickets. ride safe! |

I looked for the Fontana camping area while I was down there earlier this summer but missed it. Is it somewhere around the Dam itself?? The wife and I will be staying at the Punkin Center Campground(first time). |

I believe it is near the dam. You going to be there the same time as the trip is planned? |

Also ditto on Shred's comment on watching out for other vehicles that insist on coming over the stripes on your side. |

The camping area is to the left after you cross the bridge, headed south on 28.Its a bit before you get to the Texaco on the right. Another cool place to stay/camp is Ironhorse Motorcycle Lodge http://www.ironhorsenc.com/ Its about 20 miles from the intersection of 28 and 129,down 28. |

Thanks for the info Rocketsprink, Buellish. We were looking at Ironhorse but the couple we will be traveling with (Kawi riders) got a recommendation from Killboy on the Punkin center. Ironhorse has more information/photos on their website though... |

www.tailofthedragon.com 2 riders killed. Read the story and let it sink in. I don't want this to happen to anyone in our Group. Hell, anyone in general. Let's rip it up, but PLEASE ride safe and in YOUR comfort zone. I know I'm not the fastest guy there, and I'm ok with that. I've got nothing to prove. None of us do. |

Amen, brother!! Read the story late last night....scary stuff. As far as "comfort zone" goes, I am still runnin' the 207's, and I don't like them. So, If y'all need somebody to ride slow with, look me up, I will not be pushing it hard at all. I was hoping to get the Syncs put on before the trip, but my local(50mi) dealer has a three week wait for an appointment. |

This sadly but true is a common story. The last couple of years the Dragons tail/ Deals gap area has grown into a "Riders right of passage" and bragging rights kick. North G.a- Suches area has the same problem. People go down every weekend some even die. Last year a local police officer said North G.a had 58 motorcycle deaths. I myself have seen 6 riders go down since early April. All we can do is spread the word and ride our own ride. |

Well KRAP!! If it aint one thing....it's everything else. Driving my Jeep this weekend(the one I'm towing my bike to the gap with) and she starts this wicked vibe in the driveline somewhere. Turns out, the output shaft bearings in the transfer case are shot, and who knows what else!! I stopped at the local Jeep dealer after work today and they seem very (overly) confident that they can have it back to me by friday!!!.....so I'm dropping her off tomorrow when I get off work. I normally do all of my own repairs/maint./upgrades on all my vehicles, and I really hate to have someone else work on my stuff, but I just don't have the time this week.(not to mention it's going to be over 100 deg here for the next couple days) Man, I hope their azzes can cash the checks their mouths are writing Sorry for the rant, but no Jeep.....no Gap. tank |

You planning on hooking up with the rest of us, or is this a side deal? Tank, ya damn well better get your Jeep fixed and make it down. If I remember right, you're supposed to bring the BBQ sauce and I'm brining some choice cuts of meat. Plus I have 3 signed hats and a few shirts to give out. |

Man, I hope the weather cools down when we're there. 97 for a high today with 94% humidity!? Went last year at his time and it was no where near that bad. I guess Mesh will rule. |

Man, I hope they can fix it by friday, like they said. Yep, Rocco, that was the deal: I bring the sauce and some pork bbq, and you bring the meat. (nice tent BTW) I got a "Buell Demo Fleet" hat and shirt to throw in as well. I was going to get one of those large banners from Ebay, but I am trying not to be a patron to "unlicensed materials". (not that I take issue with things like that, but some do) |

Actually, they are doing some other maintenance as well: diff. fluid(x2) tranny fluid t-case fluid tire balance tune-up(plugs,wires,filter, etc.) It's all stuff that needs to be done eventually anyway. So while it's there, I told them to go for it. |
