B_S- standby. I'm in the middle of welding my kickstand pivot bolt back together. I know a few people have posted theirs just broke recently. CHECK YOURS TODAY!!!! When I got to work yesterday it felt a little weird as I set it down and went out later to check it out. I had John (friend that came up in Dec.) hold the bike up and as I grabbed the sidestand it all fell to pieces. Bolt was sheared. I'm ordering two today and welded up my old one for now. The rest of the night I was worried I would go out and see my baby on it's side!! I had to tie the thing up so I could ride home. Wow..... |

Got it fixed. What happens is as the bike gets sat down hundreds of times the kickstand spreads where it slips over the frame mounting tab. As it spreads it allows the bolt to be exposed more and twisted more than it was designed to be. Eventually it snaps. If you look at your kickstand see if it appears spread open more than it should. If so I would take it off and put it in a vise and close it back up. Check your pivot bolt out too while you are at it. B_S- paint that I used on the first "Sweet Piece of Tail" mod was "Dupli-Color Auto Spray number DSFM236 Ford Silver Charcoal Mcc". Bar code number is 2691612236. Purchased at The Evil Empire in the paint section (auto). |

Oh yeah, it is a little metallic so if you want flat you may need to look for a different color. A little matallic-a is always good though! |

When "they" put their kickstand down and the weight of the bike is handed over to the kickstand. The bike "settles" on the kickstand. When I put my bike on the kickstand that's it. No extra motion. The kickstand is "stiff". If your's does like mine then you have the old style. I'm no sure when this was changed. I don't think it waited for the next model year. Probably because of the problems they had with the first XB9R and it's kickstand. |

Just downloaded a free ftp program but have to go to work. I'll mess with it tonight when I get home. I think it will solve my problem. Later, Odie |

OK...I went down to the courtyard to burn a Winston. As I walk to the "Designated Smoking Area" there's this woman waving madly. I look behind me, not recognizing her, no one there. Now she's walking my way with a big grin on her face. She says "David Hare!" I must looking puzzled cause she says, "You don't remember me! I'm mad at you!" When she said "I'm mad at you" I recognized her. It's little Tina, a girl I knew in high school! She growed up fine! Anyway we're talking about "old times" and I really can't think of anything to say at all. You see, we had a relationship based on nothing other than sex havin' fun. She talked some more and asked what I was doing Thursday night, her and a girlfriend are going to this "killer bar called the Vortex, have you ever been?" Oh jeez... |

My "kickstand" doesn't sag when you weight it, it is hard as a rock! Were still talking about motorcycles.....right? Looks like things are going to be interesting at the V. I hate when the past comes back to the present. |

Ok, I have a dilemma. July 30th there's a party at my place and I want to invite the 3%'ers, but I don't know everyone's e-mail. If anyone is interested in a kick party, we're talking, pool, cabana, outdoor bar(You help supply), billiards, air hockey, tunes, dancing hippos, oh wait, my ex isn't coming. Scratch the dancing hippos. Anyway, if anyone is interested in a party in Alpharetta, send me an E-mail and I'll shoot you the particulars. rdfrew at yahoo dot com. 7/30 is next Saturday |

FYI to all: There was a kickstand recall on early XB models. If you have a question as to whether your bike falls into this group, you can call the shop with your VIN and we can check it for you. Recalls are performed free of charge. |
