What a weird coincidence. Rocky Point Restaurantis directly under my grandparent's house on Garrapata Ridge. Kind of our family chow-hut. You guys are in for a great eve. Try the dungennes crab cocktail, and walk down the trail on the south side of the restaurant. If you guys stop in at the "Highlands Inn" just a few miles North in carmel Highlands,Tell the bartender (nenito) Jay sent you. Great place. |

What would an S2 sans engine, front end, and wheels be worth? $1500 seemed too steep for the one on eBay -- apparently too steep for everyone since it didn't get any bids. I'd love to have it, but not sure it could be reassembled without going over market value unless the frame/body was in the $700 range. |

I was saving a pic on a (now dead) hard drive of a white S2 with marble-ized purple at the tank inset and mirror bulge. Anyone got that one? |

Thanks Dana! You guys just had to see some of the things I saw at the bike show today! I truly hope the XB chopper (top 2 shots) was a resurrected totalled bike. The yellow S3 was from American Turbo and was making SERIOUS horsepower! Unfortunately I neglected to find out exactly how much. There were some turbo'd bikes getting real close to 300 hp today! AL |

I didn't get to find out what the yellow S3 produced on the dyno, but the bike was one of American Turbo Power's (they are in So Cal) and it has their unit on it - not an aerocharger. One of the big twins that was using an intercooled aero dyno'd at 261 if i recall right, and it has pushed over 300 in the past, according to the owner. It's those guys in AZ. |

Hey Al, I was there too. I watched the yellow S3 on the dyno. John said he was hoping for 140-150 HP. Claimed the motor was bone stock and simply "bolted on" the turbo and it would double the output. Well, the bike failed miserably on the dyno. They could not even get it to rev very high without crapping out. They tried for a while and then gave up. Never did say a number, it just wouldn't run right. His bagger did very well though. |

The 1313 post right? That is an awesome looking ride. DAve, If you're interested in playing with that, google for irfanview, arguably the world's best freeware viewer/editor for images. That will let you tailor that image to any size you want and do a bunch of other things too. That image saves off as 640x340 Pixels now so it will require a little finaggling to get it to meet standard 4:3 desktop ratio. Adding some white space at the top and bottom could get it to 640x480 and that would work. You'll lose some sharpness as you scale it up, of course. Jack |

Yeah Jack I've been an Irfanview fan for years. It's terrific isn't it! I guess I should have said I'd like better quality version of the picture. ...Poster size? DAve |

He's still trying to sell that S-2? I looked hard at it several months ago but was put off by the shakey looking spacers on the front engine mount and lack of reliable HP info.I had Josh go by and take a ton of pics of it. |

As Yoda said, "There is no try, only do." After Saturday, the nitrous system is going back on the motor, but the motor is going into a another bike. |
