Well Nils and I had a good time anyway. I showed him my favorite roads and a couple that will be favorites once I get the corners to flow. We saw a couple of lone Buells when we got to Pepin a Gorgeous S2 in 1/2 and 1/2 black and orange and an M2. About a 120 miles altogether with about 80 of them rather twisted and snakey. On the way home I managed to slip the rear wheel on corner exit. Very cool (stupid but cool) I also met a guy in Durand with two X1's and a Blast while at the hardware store trying to figure out a band aid for my rear muffler clamp which broke now that I have the front fixed. He and a friend of his gave me a hand by welding it up again. Methinks I need isolator bushings or to go back to the stock muffler. All in all a darn good time. |

The Wisconsin backroad tour sounds like fun, I'll try to make the next BRAG ride and meeting. I was just in Colorado again last week, here are some preview pics for those of you going to the ride the rockies adventure. If you get a chance, besides taking Hwy 36 through RMNP take Hwy 34 from Loveland to Estes Park. It's a twisty road that follows a river through a canyon, I saw lots of bikes and wished I wansn't in a car the whole time. Hwy 36 in RMNP at about 12,000 ft Goldwings parked on Hwy 36 in June View from Hwy 36 in July

Colorado this time of year rocks. You can have fun in the snow without the major weather problems. |

Yeah that crest at the top of what my friend Walter calls Armco corner is a little nuts from either direction. Personally I'm glad that truck slowed us down there. The first time I hit that spot it scared the bejeezus out of me. It's a tricky spot because the crest always makes me think I should turn and the driveway to the left which usually leaves some gravel in the middle of the road. Coming from the SE you get some serious speed built because the corners before it are fast sweepers with a good sightline then you come over the crest and realize there is a decreasing radius corner coming up fast with no run off room. It's a good area to remember to tippy toe through. |

Nills, Stopped by last evening around 7:30 but you had left already. I had to pick up some rings for the M2. Maybe next time! BTW, I heard about the new shop for next year in Eden Prairie. That would be much closer for me! Brad |

For those of you who watched the news last night, the guy with the bomb was my neighbor right across the street. My "NORMAL" neighbors said I missed a great show put on by the St Paul Police Bomb squad. They all kept telling me about the neat robot. I don't think that the robot will compare with the 2 new Buell models. I know one of the new Buell models, like the robot, is able to go on dirt and pavement....hint hint. |

Hi guys, My name is Al. I have been lurking here since I got my X1 (from St. Paul HD no less) I am looking for some input from anyone. My wife and I are beginning to plan a trip to the ( well that is what I would like your help with) Stillwater area or La Crosse area. We have never been in that area before. Would it be better to stay near Stillwater or La Crosse or anywhere else. Our main goal for the trip would be to explore and find some fun riding. But to not be so far removed by the end of day not have any options for evening entertainment. Any comments will be great. Thanks Al |

Hi Al, Some of my favorite rides in the state are in Minn. Bluff Country (SE Minn.). I might not go all the way to LaCrosse, but stop in Winona or Wabesha. There are many beautiful rides west of there to Lanesboro and the Amish Country near Harmony. www.bluffcountry.com/ and then click on Scenic Byways. You can also cross the river for some great rides in western Wisc. The Nelson, Wi cheese factory is highly recommended. Mike |

Al, There are a ton of fun county roads off HWY 35 on the Wi side of the river. There are a few good restuarants in the area. Confluence in Prescott, Nortons near the Red Wing airport (owned by the former drummer of Husker Du), Bogus Creek in Stockholm, The Bayport in Pepin to name a few. There are several B and B's in the area as well. There are some really good roads around Menomonie and Arcadia, WI also and dirt track racing on Friday nights at Red Cedar Speedway or Fox Ridge Speedway in Arcadia if that's something you're into. |

Nils, I did see that yesterday. I wonder what it means. I wonder if we will see more Duke's around. I think a super motard type bike would be fun. I'm really curious to see the new Buells.... |

The new bikes are being released next week. When they are getting here we don't know. Hopefully we will have at least one new Buell for the Lighting Run or one that I can take to first Thursday. |

After a month of downtime I finally fixed both issues plaguing my bike and can now ride again. What's the plan for the August 6 BRAG ride? I'm looking for an adventure! |

Our year starts on the 1st and that is when I find out the numbers. If you are interested in one let me know, we can work something out, like maybe a deposit. I know we are going to get a bunch, management is really excited about this bike. They all love it. |

Keep me updated. I'm sure others on this list would like to know when the bikes are expected. I'm in the processing of selling 2 Ducati's to purchase an adventure bike. I'll most likely get the Buell or the KTM. Both appear to be great bikes. M |

Milar, have you sold the Ducati's already? I know someone who's looking for one... Nils, I also know someone who's interested in the Ulysses so definitely let us know when it's ready for a test ride! |

Meet here at the shop around 6, then we can go somewhere cool to eat. My co worker Jason, in my department, crashed a company Buell during the Lightning Run. He hit some tar snakes in a curve. Hes ok. I will tell you guys about it it was pretty funny after the crash. |

I can't make it unfortunately. The exhaust has broken again.$$%^#$%%$%$#^!!!!! I think I'm going with a complete D&D system and replacing the isolators and updating to the Y bracket, or taking the thing out back and shooting it. I won't have all the parts in my greasy mitts hands for a week it sounds like. I may cobble something together again so I can come play Saturday but I'm starting to get annoyed with chasing this particular piece of poor engineering. Not sure if it's Buell's foolishness or the hotrod stuff. Anyone got a stock muffler for sale cheap? I think I can live with quite if it stays on the bike and doesn't break every 1500 miles. |
