Here's the first whack at updating the paint codes. More to come! I believe most of these codes are PPG colors, some of the paint codes to be added later will be Sikkens, I'll modify the tables accordingly.
Color | Paint Code | Amazon Green | DBC 48449 | Billet | DBC 36571 | Black Magic | DBC 95055 | Blue Streak | DBC 19038 | Canyon Red | DBC 75049 | Carbon Black | DBC 9700 | Demon Blue | DBC 5246 | Onyx Alloy | 95152-32 | Orange | DBC 61876 | Race Stripe White | DBC-91853 | Reactor Yellow | DBC 81746 | Red Snap | DBC 75050 | Spark Red | DBC 75056 | Volcano Gray | DBC 28328 | | | White Base | DBC 91679 | White Pearl Topcoat | DBC 91680 | | | Neon Yellowv or | S27936 | High Voltage Base | | Top Coat | S27937 | | | Clear | DCU 2042 | Clear Hardener | DCX 9 | Reducer | DT 870 | Reducer | DT 885 | Reducer | DT 895 | Primer | K 36 | Primer | K 201 | |

The spark red maybe wrong. I stopped at a paint place (non PPG) and he tried finding code DBC 75056 for spark red and came up with nothing. Can anyone elaborate on these paint codes? |

I've been having the same problem with Red Snap. My DuPont dealer can't find the 75050 code anywhere on his system. rt |

FYI... I did some searching for ppg codes, even spark red, motorcycle paint, anything that might give me an idea what color code I have. I came to a whole bunch of dead ends. So I had a auto paint guy use his color camera on my bike and he took three shots and got three good readings and was able to make me a couple rattle cans for $17 each. I have yet to use them; my plans are to paint fairing lowers for the S3T and a chin fairing from an X1 and then put them on my bike. But it would be nice to find out the deal on these paint codes. |

I used the onyx alloy code at a PPG dealer and they gave me a breakdown of all the colors that go into it and it came back as onyx alloy per BMC. either it's the reds that are screwing up or you might have to go to a PPG dealer. |

I did some poking around on the PPG site last night. I was unable to look up paint codes without a sign on Id and password. I'll give it another try tonight. Brad |

Yes I found the PPG sign in with a log in and password. But seeing how I am not a PPG dealer that is all the further I got. It would be nice if BMC would give that info out. |

For Red Snap Person if you can not get the paint in PPG. Before PPG Red Snap Buell used Sikkens To make one liter use the follow Sikkens numbers Grams Used 359 992.5 744 .6 Reduce 100 % Ratio 1 to 1 |

The snap red is a PPG number of DBC-75050. Spark Red is made in a PPG Lab some where, so there is no way to get the paint. If there is sufficient interest there are a couple possible solutions. One of the major problems, with small amounts of paint, is the high shipping costs. |

What is so secret about spark red that PPG wont let it out. The other colors seem to be available. Just sounds rotten. |

Man! That is the mother lode! Court, Can you verify the color mixes for the 95 and 96 models? I've been trying to find the Carribean Candy Blue formula for some time. Thanks much John! |

Brad: I'll be in contact with the painter at Buell this weekend (hoooooray . . . . I am done with my 6AM until midnight gig until next Tuesday!) and will ask him to review. I shall report back to you. Court |
