Loni,
We are actually heading out for a 2 week road trip on the 9th. Working our way up to Coeur D Alene, ID so the kids can go to Silver Wood amusument park then down to Helena, MT so they can go dig for sapphires and after they get bored with that, heading for Yellowstone.

Does anyone have a Video Camera they would be willing to lend out? (please nothing that fancy, it does need to have composite video though.)I have one and im bringing it to do another helmet cam of splash. I would also like to mount a camera out the back of the bike as well. I am working on getting bullet cams, but dont know for sure yet I can get two of them, unless Funjimmy still has his?? |

I do still have mine. Wasn't sure if I should bring it or not. If I do decide to do the helmet camera thing then I'll likley ride the RC51. There is more trunk room on the RC than the S1. LOL

The S1 is in the shop waiting for a stator, which Deeley's can't tell me the availability of.
The S1 has completed SPLASH on several occasions. You unfortunately where not in attendance on those events. It was Border Raid that continued to elude me, and I'm proud to say the curse of Border Raid is no longer an issue. Yeha!

Are you sure! I have a Canon camera that only allows video input if there is an audio cable connected to the composite jacks too. If I start the video feed and disconnect the audio cable the camera blocks the video feed. Most remote cameras don't supply an audio stream.
You won't believe how long it took me to figure that one out.
Try it and let me know.

The one I purchased comes with seperate Mic as well, and it was all plugged in when I tried it. I found a list of cam corders that accept audio/video in and it doesnt show mine. I have a JVC GR-DVL720U I would have thought is would of worked, but I guess not.
As for the motor, I hope to work on it tomorrow and get it back in. Things keep coming up and it is taking longer then I though it was going to. |

re: Video input.
After you connect the remote video camera to your camcorder make sure to switch the power to the VCR Power On mode then try record from there. If the camcorder is set to Camera On mode it will only record through the built in lens and mic.

S1, I guess you have not been around enough years yet. Galen in his roos is nothing new to the SPLASH crowd. I did laugh when I saw it said to myself "Yep that's our Galen!" |

engine is in, just have a few things left to finish up today, and I have to locate my shifter...not sure what hapend to it.
FYI, when you have to take the timing cover off, make sure you dont accidently pull the timing gear out...makes for much more time.....lol...I had to take both rocker boxes off and losen all the bolts inside to get the pushrods to move so I could put the gear back..(had to take the timing cover off due to the fact that my oil lines had been cut when removed and no longer reached the oil bag, so I had to replace them...(good fun) |

congrats on another SPLASH in the books, peeps, was there in spirit, cool that this thing still lives.
can't do it next year, but 2007 will mark the 10th anniversary of Blue Groove/Northwest, the ride that spawned this gig, which sounds like a good excuse for Massive Mayhem on the Mountain.
if y'all will have me i'll be there with bells on.

Well I'm still recovering from SPLASH 2005!~
I have come to the conclusion that reality sucks! Especially right after such a great ride.
Big thanks to Bob & Deb for the great room Friday and Sunday nights.
And to Loni & Chris for the BBQ at the lake and use of the inflatables (... now, now, you know I mean the air mattress for floating on the lake!!) and the towels to keep us dry.
To Galen for... well being Galen, of course! And also to S1Hooligan for showing up at just the right time.
And to Duane and Lisa for a wonderful Sunday Night Dinner!
And a big juicy hug to everyone that showed up to either party, ride or both!
Looking forward to another great ride soon.
