I can't take too much credit, for some reason a lot of people red lighted against me. But hey, a win's a win. What was cool though was that I won the first round on reaction time and got a bye in the semi based on reaction time. The real eye opener came on the first pass of the night. I didn't know it at the time, but they had just reglued the entire starting line area the day before so it was extremely sticky. So since I didn't know (and my mountains of experience hadn't alerted me to it) I went about my business and promptly stood the bike up on the launch. So after backing out of it to set the front end back down, I clicked off a blistering 14.2 second run while thinking the whole way down "What the #*^! was that all about???" (still at 104mph though). I just chalked it up to inexperience and getting a little overly happy with the clutch on my first run on the night. I figured I would settle out after a few more runs, although we didn't get many practice runs thanks to a broken wire on the tree that needed fixing (who needs the green light anyway???). After everyone made a pass (with several wheelies), they made an announcement to have everyone meet by the staging lanes as they wanted to alert us to a track condition. Well now I knew what the #*^! was that all about. Anyway, other than the win which was obviously pretty fun, I did another six passes to work on my reaction time and that came out pretty cool as well. I had two lights in the 0.020s, two in the 0.030s, one in the 0.040s and my worst out of those six runs was an 0.057 so I was extremely pleased with that as well. So all in all, it was a great night and I hope to see some of you out there in two weeks (cause after that you know I’ll be running again. |

Just talked to two new buell owners yesterday. I told them about bad web and the club. I seriously think they'll make the next meeting. they seemed really excited about it. (Message edited by wingnut on July 08, 2005) |

Won't make Dundee, gotta work its cool season for me. There is a hillclimb here next weekend if you have never seen one. The bike club (Variety Riders)do a good job and there is a pushrod class too. Griz your draggin would be good for hillclimbing, we get 4 second or so times up a 130 ft hill that has 3 steps cut in it and the top is almost vertical! Website Varietyriders.com has some info about the event. |

Hi all! Well, I now have a bike of my own. It's not a Buell, sorry, but it's very comfortable and handles wonderfully. It's a 1995 CBR 600 F3 and is lots of fun to ride. Definitely a bike to learn and grow into. Many thanks to Daves for his help in finding and purchasing this bike. You're the best Dave! See you all soon! Becki (my pics aren't willing to come up so I'll post them as soon as I can) |

That Buell looks so lonely. Jason, congrats. Becki, congrats on the new bike. To bad ya can't ride with us now. No non-Buells allowed! Just kidding! Good starter bike, but be careful. Power delivery is a lot different on those bikes. It's a good thing you didn't get too used to the Blast. I'm sure it fits you a lot better than a Blast too. You're too tall for the Blast, as is my wife. But I think by next year she'll be looking into getting a bike that fits her a little better. |

Dora, that's one more Buell than I've seen here in VT/NH/ME. It's absolutely pathetic. Becki. congrats on the bike! Rocco, yeah, the blast is a great starter bike, but now my wife also needs something a bit bigger/more powerful now. I made the mistake , and swapped bikes with her a couple of times, and she loves the S3. So either we see what's coming out in a few weeks from Buell, or buy another S3. |

Here's the problem, my wife (the squid) can now outrun me! Rocco, Dave suggested this bike the other day when I called to inquire about a blast. I was worried about the power as well, but when I tried it I was shocked at how weak it was until you get to 8000rpm. Becki took it on a test ride and we agreed that it was a total cupcake in the lower part of the powerband. Becki is going to shift around 7000 to keep things mellow. It's been dropped and has a little bit of ferring damage that has been touched but I've put nearly 200 miles on it already (130 was just getting home) and it's a good runner that is fun to ride. Here's the bike JT |

What's the name and address of that leather repair shop in Racine where Tom took his leathers to get repaired. I need to get my pants there to get the velcro patch replaced that wore thru on my Track Day, and Karri needs to get her boot fixed. Also, what are we congratulating Jason on? What's the big news Andrea? |

Thank you Tom! Jason, I just got the Teknic Speedstar Knee sliders. Get yourself a set if you haven't already. About 3 times as thick as the ones we have and heavy for their size which leads me to believe they'll last a lot longer. |
