No test ride, no BRC, and the only riding I'd ever done was about fifty miles on a Honda 250. Then I bought a 12R and rode it home in the rain! I think the dealer was surprised to see me again. -NadZ |

In Oct '02 the first XB9S had just arrived at my HD/B dealership. I jokingly asked if I could ride it. Gulp, they said yes. The test ride was one of those things that I will always remember, how the other traffic seemed to be in a slower dimension or something. It set off a lusting for the XB that was satisfied 75 days later, when I traded in the '00 Blast, a bike I really liked. |

Test rode a Firebolt, ordered a '03 XB9S. No regrets even after missing the price decrease. Them is Rose Colored® glasses! |

No test ride for me either. I went into my local HD/Buell dealer and they didn't have a demo for me to ride. I sat on the XB9S for not even 2 seconds before the salesman approached. He was completely knowledgeable about Buell. Not at any time did he try to talk me out of the Buell and into a HD. He asked if I was serious about purchasing a Buell. I told him enthusiastically "YES". He told me that he would be right back. When he returned, he had a new quote for me. I looked at the quote and immediately told him that I would take it. It's a Great bike. I'm so glad that I was there at that particular time to get that bike. The funny thing is that I just came from the Suzuki dealer. I've had Suzuki dirt bikes my whole life, so I naturally thought of Suzuki first. However, I wasn't thrilled with the extremely HUGH can on the side of the bike. Plus the Suzuki dealer was less than friendly on two separate occasions. So, on my way home I decided to check out the HD/Buell dealer on a whim. And here I am now! |

How many of ya's took a test ride on a XB which resulted in a purchase of an XB??? Me! Demoed one at the Laughlin River Run in April 2002 while waiting for the VROD demo bike. Thought about the Buell the whole ride home. Ordered one within a week. Got it June 28, 2002. |

no test ride here either... saw the XB up in VT at a HOG rally (i'm no HD guy, owned nothing but Hondas) and was like, woah, what is THAT? year or so later I run into BadWeb and DaveS... I was sold! Purchased from Dave in Dec. and waited a looooong 4mo. for my first ride... it's everything I hoped it would be. (Message edited by typeone on July 10, 2005) |

I've wanted an XB since I saw the firebolt in the June/July 2001 issue of Fuell. I "knew" I would own one someday. Two years later I test rode a 9R & a 9S & it confirmed my belief that I would own one someday. Two years after that I got my 12Scg. I never took a 12 out for demo. |

I was considering one and just popped in on the way back from a shopping trip. I tried to be dead cool after the test ride around the dealer but I was hooked. That was the bike to do the job for me and I got my 12 Firebolt. Call it "The Mistress". You lot must know why. |

I bought my 1998 S1w without a test ride or even seeing it in person. Never even ridden a Buell and only had seen a few in person. I had an 883 sportster at the time. I wanted to upgrade to a 1200 and the cheapest method was to sell the Sportster and fly up to Ohio and ride an all white S1w home! But in general - if Buell or any bike company wants to sell a 9,000+ bike I'd damn sure want a test ride. |

i went to the dealer because of an ad for a 02 x-1 brand new it was dirt cheap. test rode it. but they had the xb's there and i was like wow that is bad a** looking. but a little out of my price range at the time. so my wife says do you like the x-1? i said yeah...but i really like that xb.....she says wait get what you want don't settle....so 4 months later i get the 12s.....without a test ride... |

I test rode an XB on a whim and liked it a lot but it felt a little on the tiny side for me. I test rode an X1 and traded my 1990 Saggytail for it a day later. No regret at all, I never managed to like the Saggytail. I grin every damn time I get on the X1 if I didn't have to work I'm not sure I'd ever get off it. I am not a cruiser kind of guy. |

Naawww...no test ride. Kinda read up on it and talked to people about it. bought it at Glendale HD/Buell here with no regrets. Never planned on turning it into a racebike but I just liked playing with it so much that well... ummm... it started losing lights, mirrors and getting different bodywork and engine stuff and well... I like it even more. I raced an SV650 for a year while working on the XB and when it was ready, there was no question which bike I'd stay with for racing. My only regret is crash-testing too often (on both bikes) |
