Dj_rider, I was just going to ask a question about warranty myself. So far I'd say that if your bike is within the 24 month warranty period and you brought this problem to the attention of the dealership right away, then you're covered. You would have to show neglect to have a dealer try to wiggle out of any warranty work. If you take care of your bike, they should, and most likely will, take care of you. If you haven't modified the bike where it would compromise the health of the belt/drive system, then you're ok... ie. if you've removed any of the belt guards, then the dealership could say THAT was why the belt got damaged and the teeth got chopped up. I know the warranty states: 24 months (unlimited mileage) My question about warranty is this... What exactly does the warranty cover... I have yet to obtain any further details as to what that means to the regular joe, like me, who owns one of these machines. Other than the arbitration papers that were included in the paperwork when I bought the bike, there's no further information. Can anyone shed any light on this subject? I know the salesman said, "replacement" rather quickly when I mentioned how long my bike had been in the shop but, I have no illustions about what a problem "replacement" could turn into. I just don't see dealerships replacing motorcycles readily... |

Dj_rider, As long as all your stock belt guards are in place your belt is covered under the factory warranty. Tunes, It's sorta hard to say what exactly the warranty covers. I'm sure there's a lot of legal paperwork out there that explains it in legal-speak, but I certainly wouldn't know what that was. *My* interpretation of the warranty is that it covers any non wear item that fails due to something other than abuse. |

Dj, Are you referring to the chrome accessory belt guards? If so, you're still covered. |
