I have gone through two pairs of Icon Burner gloves in less than a year. Stitching was the issue... so not impressed with the shoddy workmanship that I have seen there so far. On the other hand, my Icon Timax pants saved my ••• when I went asphalt surfing on my Triumph RS (may she rest in piece). The R knee is pretty much shot, but no road rash and no bruise even! | ||

I second the Icon Hooligan gloves - have the black with blue accents. Only for street though - race requires a gauntlet IMHO. | ||

I'll vouch for the Held gloves as well. Pricey - but mine has saved my hands in 4 crashes so far - first pair was retired to street-only duty after the first 3 crashes. Second pair really took a beating in that 4th crash and may have to be retired as well. However, Helimot - the original distributer of Held in the US - will check and repair Held gloves if they deem them fixable. At a cost of course, but still. Henrik | ||

My firstgear gloves finally popped a seam. They lasted 4 years and about 50K miles. I will most likely get another pair just like them. | ||

I had a set of LaTrek gloves that seriously saved my hand in a 60mph crash. I lost one in a move and could not find them anymore so I got a set of Joe Rocket gloves. So far they have been real good and comfortable. I have not given them a stress test yet and hope I dont have to. If anyone knows of a LaTrek Dealer please pm me. | ||

My Olympia gloves have held up very well ..1 year and counting .... have a pair of Road Gear gloves for summer that I bought on clearance .. will be replacing them as soon as possible ...  | ||

My Olympia gel gloves (for summer riding) have 2 years on them. Olympia leather gauntlets (for winter riding) have 4 years on them. Never had the asphalt test with these yet, though. | ||

I'm wearing First Gear Tracks gloves; all black. Got them new this year to replace my Gericke Tribals. They are a gauntlet and are quite comfortable. Yes I have the Asphalt gloves. I had a pair of the puck gloves and the finger tips wore thru, I guess I use the clutch too much? Tha Asphalt gloves seem to be wearing well, although the fingers are like the Puck glove and will fail first, my next pair will be Held. I have wasted enough money buying "sale" gloves that look great but are junk. So would I buy the Asphalt glove? If I wasn't doing any track days - ya, but like any thing else ask those who have unfortunately have used a product for its intended use. So why do racers wear good gloves...... Henrik its your turn now. | ||

Held gloves- over five years and over 20,000 miles on my pair, and if I hadn't melted the stitching and scorched one finger out of them, ( DOH! It was REALLY COLD and I grabbed the header instead of the head. The rainstorm turned into a hailstorm. Brrrr...) they'd still be perfectly serviceable. And I got em for 50 bucks at a harley dealer! Now, after buying a 50 dollar pair of gloves to replace them, and having to put some stitches in both gloves after less than 500 miles, that 180 bucks list for a new pair of Helds doesn't seem like such a bad deal! | ||
