Have you guys heard of an ET sensor making a bike run rough. By the way I have an 02 X1 lightning. I checked for trouble codes and it gave me a 14 which is ET sensor. My bike runs fine for the most part then it will have a major fit and run like crap. I would assume if a sensor goes bad, it goes bad not in and out. Let me know what you guys think. |

go to the search feature and do a key word search for et sensor, match all words and look in knowledge vault. ET error 14 is the temp sensor in the head, tricky to measure and change. Read all 12 threads like this one; http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/15078.html I bet your bike will run like crap if the ECM thought it was cold and turned on the cold injector and advanced the timing and also if it was too hot and retarded the timing...Den 99X1 |

I had that problem at about 12000 miles. My temp senor rattled loose. It wasn't broke, it was just not measuring the engine |

Yes, I had the same problem, intermittent rough running, switched everytything except the ET sensor and it would always come back. Replaced ET sensor and the problem disapeared. |

ET sensor is about 30-40 bucks. also requires you to cut a gap into a socket (for the wire). Simple to change and you get to clean the top of the engine while your at it. |
