I plan on doing Sturgis then ride down to Colorado for Riding the Rockies. If I get all my projects at work finished in time. Dr. Fuyutaski (sp?) said the guys at Rocky Mtn. HD were pumped about this event. Anyone else going? Got to go fill out the registation. DBird |

Well, I"m planning on being there too... I"ve already filled out the forms. I"m planning on staying at the National Forest Service campground just a few miles away. No, I"m not really 'camping', I'm bringing my travel trailer. I"m planning on getting there a couple of days early also. I might do some flat water kayaking and bike path pedaling while I'm there. Tim, Bishops Castle is a pretty cool deal. We went back in '99 while we were riding dirt bikes. I"m thinking I might stop in either on the way up or after I get the trailer set up. Here's a website: www.bishopcastle.org Yall locals: how far is bishops castle from the Silverthorne area??? Who's going to the race on saturday??? Looking forward to meeting yall... Kevin |

So am I to believe that only 6 BadWeb type folks are going to this event? I usually don't get too jazzed about the Goldwinger type stuff but this should be great fun. DBird |

I won't be able to do the entire ride because I am doing the Cripple Creek Veteran's rally that same weekend. I am in the Army and will be working at the recruiters booth - Anyway, looking forward to this ride! |

Selling Bikes is my curse during the ride but hey, there are worse. Bishop Castle is cool. If anybody wants to open it up and check high altitude, straight horsepower, highway 94 from the springs towards kansas is where one of the techs takes his nos pushed Buell. Nothing like racing towards the sun. If anybody is in the area-stop by Pikes Peak Harley. I'll wire ya up on cafe and sugar and spank ya on your way. |

Hey Tbell - I was just there this weekend - we stopped by on our way back to Denver from Pueblo. Your dealership is pretty nice and I was actually impressed with your staff - everyone was very helpful and great to deal with! I also was happy because I got that dang Buell tank top that I have been looking for everywhere- the white one with the Horsepower logo on the front - Anyways- thanks! DBird- I thought that this name would have been taken too, LOL! |

Hey - I have been looking at the "schedule" for this event - and I notice that basically there is NO information about this ride.... I will call Dave @ Rocky Mountain H-D tomorrow and see if he knows what's going on - I also looked at the hotel rates. WHEW! $100 per night. OUCH! I guess I will be bringing my tent! |

Hey all - update on the Ride through the Rockies: I spoke with Dave at RMH-D today and he won't be able to make it but gave me the low down. Basically the event will be starting on the 17th at 10AM-3PM at the dealership. There you will get all of your swag and stuff, and also have free use of the dyno! BRAG is paying for the time, so you will be able to put your bike up on it and get it fine tuned by the Buell tech. At 3 everyone will be leaving to go to Silverthorne, not sure of the route, but I am sure it will be a nice one... the next couple of days will be rides from Silverthorne - he said that he gave them 12 or so rides, and they have chosen 3 from that (one for each day) but he is not sure which ones. I can guarantee you though, that no matter which way you go from Silverthorne, it is going to be beautiful. There are about 30 riders signed up so far, and it is expected that there will be a few more here and there until the event - so it should be a great turnout!! Mr. Buell will be there on Friday, so make sure to bring some type of metallic pen (or whatever you prefer) with you so he can sign your stuff. I don't know about you, but I am so excited about this and am looking forward to meeting you all! Make sure if you see me to stop me and say hi - it will be nice to put a name with a face! |

Kate, got a couple of questions for ya: I've got one of the tfi units on my 12R, would they be able to fine tune it on the dyno??? I know the weather can vary but what would you guess the weather and temperatures will be like??? Don't worry, we won't hold you to any weather guesses... Thanks, Kevin |

I have no idea about the specifics of the Dyno use, you should call Dave Croach at RMH-D - his number is: 303-703-2885 for any other details. As for the weather it usually gets pretty warm - 90s to 100s but it will be nice and cool in the mountains. Up in Silverthorne I would bet that it won't get above 90. The evenings can get pretty cool so make sure if you bring something warm - like a sweatshirt or long sleeved t-shirt. As for the rain, it's pretty much a crapshoot. I would guess (and hope!) that it will be absolutely beautiful. |

Art, The wife (blueiwahine) and I are trailering our bikes up thru NM on the way to CO. We are leaving Sunday or Monday. Like Kevin said, we need a break from this TX heat, if its not cooler in CO, at least the humidity should be lower.. Plus the scenery will be great!!! Can't wait and hope to meet everyone. |

Current temp is 56, has been in the mid to high 70's. Humidity is 47 percent, twice the norm. Has been raining every day for a week. Hoping it clears up before next week. Bring RAIN GEAR. Kim In Breckenridge, 15 miles from Silverthorne Co. |
