Just found out this weekend that the Nallin front engine mount makes fitting XB rocker covers even easier. There's plenty of room for the front cover and no grinding is necessary.

Glad I installed the mount before the rocker covers!

I have almost everything needed to assemble my motor. I'm having the valves back-cut for clearance and I still need to order the front motor mount. She will live...soon!

There is no such company as Nallin and I'd prefer if we can get the names of companies right.

You are referring to NHRS or NRHS. One had Brian Nallin at the helm but no longer does, the other Aaron Wilson at the helm and still does.

Nallin is merely someone's surname in BadWeb terms these days so it's a little confusing unless one happens to know the past connection.

Thanks,

Rocket

front motor mount

The above even confuses me. Nallin or no nallin, you have to go to www.nallinracing.com (Aaron Wilson owns the name Nallin Racing) to find the parts you need.

Just do it.

I am sorry to correct you, However Nallin, is Brians surname(last name over hear) and also a supporter of badweb through Revolution tech, a division of millenium cylinders
Link: http://www.revperf.com/xl.aspx

However you are correct, it can get confusing, and i belive both are good companies supplying quality parts, and revo has come up with some very cool heads as of late
Just an FYI

You may.....

and it is patented by Aaron Wilson who owns the copyright to the name Nallin Racing Head Service.

Here's where it get's easy....simply enter NALLIN RACING (or www.nallinracing.com) and buy the darn thing. It's the only one available so you won't have to do a bunch of comparison shopping.

Hey I wasn't trying to start anything here. Merely set things straight.

I'm well aware of where Brian Nallin is now as I'm sure most long term BadWeBers are too but I don't see the point in associating the Nallin name with NRHS seeing as neither have no relevance to one another any longer. I assume Mr Wilson suffers a similar dilemma seeing as NRHS's website mentions the name Nallin only once and that's in their business address only. Other than that NRHS is the order of the day everywhere else in print. I'd further assume Mr Wilson would welcome us all to drop the Nallin name from his business so please don't take my saying so as me taking a pop at anyone. This should also not be read as an opportunity for starting a debate on the matter. Perhaps a mark of respect for all would be kinder. Nallin is Mr Nallin and NRHS is not. What could be simpler? Mr Wilson coming back to the BadWeB as sponsor perhaps. Not a bad idea me thinks. Nuff said - over and out!

S&S does make billet motor mounts for Buell, but they don't make one to adapt XB/XL-R heads to a tube framed Buell. They make a "special order" mount to adapt their 100" motor.

xb rocker covers do clean up the carb side of the bike nicely, so dan your gonna have to change your profile pic. i really like the hardware suggested by that nice dcbrag fella, i ended up routing my breather hoses exactly like his and it worked out great. as far as the mount, i'm just gonna grind my stock jobbie down until if and when i go with the xb heads all though i will admit the mount offered by nrhs is a real nice piece!

Aaron's stuff, typical Aaron, is ART....pure and simple.

I have to confess....I've got TWO of his air cleaner backing plates. One on the bike, one framed and hanging on the wall.

You may find folks with a range of opinions about Aaron, you'll find only ONE opinion of his workmanship.

I went as far as to put one of the AC on a Sportster were are building to be given to a Schwans Home Delivery Associate (driver) later in the fall. We agree with you about Aaron, Susan, and the whole "Good Time Gang".

Aaron, himself, like any racer wants to be the best and have the best equipment available. We as Bullers are very lucky to have Aaron and his Team with us.

I think the XB rockers are ugly as sin but the breather system works quite well.

Tripp, I wouldn't adapt a stock mount for XB heads. There isn't a whole lot of material to begin with and that cast aluminum isn't that strong to begin with. That front motor mount was one of the most expensive pieces I had to buy, but IMO it's very much worth it.

I've talked the folks at NRHS a few times. They've never been anything but totally helpful.

On the other hand I asked S&S for some tech support and they simply told me I shouldn't buy their product instead of answering my question!

Rick_a,

It's isn't necessary that the XB rockers be 'ugly as sin'. A friend of mine and I polished the XB rocker box tops that I installed on my S2 before Homecoming in an afternoon's worth of work. My front cover is die cast and polished up beautifully, while my rear cover is sand cast which doesn't lend itself too well to polishing (and shows it).

NOW you post the pic, after I bid on a chrome motor mount for the T-storm heads. (I guess I had a chance to see it before...)
Those do look nice. The polished strip in between the black on yours is a real nice touch, Tripp. I'm copying that pic to my Buell folder for future plagiarism.

I really like the as delivered finish on the XB rocker covers. I plan on sandblasting the rocker boxes to match.

"xb rocker covers do clean up the carb side of the bike nicely, so dan your gonna have to change your profile pic."

That was the first pic I ever uploaded to the BadWeb!

The stock finish doesn't stand up to weather very well. Mine were corroded in no time.

Yeah...that whole area has a lot more reinforcement. It looks like they finally made it to suit the Buell application.
