Brandywine Candy apple red metalic. Sprayed it myself, and I am pretty happy with the results! http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SwCNAuwVrDH*veMdy2fBS5SvGa1yNiB3veC9m2oiambFU8iSjIT8VmemPdlo*FlBaq9etw5YuI*ZJ4lY9lFhK1my8LxnAGgHz5n!zYVDl!HJXLRoZ8L1Kg/New%20Paint%202.jpg?dc=4675528047137623435 http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SwAAAOsVcTH*veMdy2fBS5SvGa1yNiB36tgXTkDob1ViywrzPw9H1sYcRLLCe4zGlA!YwTyhMX*QACr!FARFuh6xX5EST*hQV5sRM59nVJNG!9MA73ozWA/New%20Paint%201.jpg?dc=4675528047084975089 I made a stencil for the "Buell" text on the tank and painted it on the basecoat under the metalflake and the candy. At most angles it is not visable (I put the flash on my camera on to make it more visable) http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SgCRAk0WOkVirGrdCvXX4M6pCTwYJ52XysmmIdZKrY98DA!LTy1fBJRTVZK!TrOty3ZEjk*hC!*kZaJdG1!NY368aY5SaBg3fSu0FBqfsWNMNagTY28tlA/Hidden%20Buell.jpg?dc=4675528047050826918 (Message edited by elyaswolffxb9s on June 26, 2005) |

Sweet paint dude! I want to do the same but in metallic midnight black with a purple pearl. Sigh, someday... |

What type of paint did you use for that? Any flex additive involved? |

Flex is not needed, as the parts do not flex that much. You just need to scuff the plastic and use an adhesion promoter. |

Nice paint!!! Is that front tire a M1 Sportec? If so, your tread pattern is reversed compared to mine...Is your tire rotating in the right direction? |

Thanks guys! It was House of Kolor paint, no flex additive, I did not feel it was necessary (although when I folded the newspaper under the parts that were covered in paint, it did not crack) I scuffed it all up with 400 wet, then sprayed on adhesion promoter. The process was as follows: Scuff and clean parts, adhesion promoter, white base coat ("Buell" in black primer) Color sand, gold metal flake, Brandywine kandy, color sand with 1000grit, clear coat, wait two weeks then wax (still waiting) I park my bike in the Yamaha shop that I work at, and everyone seems to love it :-) Now if we could only start selling Buells... Oh and yeah...um... my front tire is backwards. That is what happens when you install a tire at 3:00 am and are wacked out on paint fumes |

Good work Elyas, I'll have to stop in and check it out in person. I have to come by and pick up my Yamadog parts this week some time. (if they come in) |

"That is what happens when you install a tire at 3:00 am and are wacked out on paint fumes" Careful... Always read and follow label directions. You're supposed to concentrate that stuff before you shellac your lungs. =) Cool paint! Bob |

B-E-A-Utiful paint. Great color selection Just curious - did you paint the belt guards also? |

No I just took off the belt guard. I am doing a "R" tail conversion soon. I just got the plastic off eBay and I am debating doing some tastefull graphics on it. maybe some checkered flags, they would look the same as the "Buell" on the airbox cover. |

Hopefully ya'll have changed the tire, or I missed that post. The reason being is that the front tire splits water and pushes it to the side when its raining and allows better back tire grip. Don't want that gorgeous paint to go asphalt surfing!! |
