after accelerating hard, my xb12r makes little popping sounds from exhaust on engine breaking (?!) .. is this right?! i really like the sound .. i put 91/92 octane in it. also, on decelleration i notice a whistling sound that i think is from intake .. is this correct & another thing i find cool! |

Are you running a free flowing exhaust? They tend to pop a little more although the stock can does too a little. If is excessive it may be on the lean side. |

Mine (XB9SX w/race kit) was doing that a bit more until today when I got the TPS and AFV reset. Rarely did it when I was pegging the throttle wide open and off on the way home. |

The "tech" term for it is a lean condition,My D&D does it even just changing from first to second gear. |

Completely normal. Can be reduced by adding a TFI. |

ok .. what is it? i called it backfire cause i don't know the tech term for it. I'm sorry if I sounded condemning. The tech term would be exhaust popping Backfire is litterally what it says it is ... it fires back into the airfilter. Unless I am misinformed exhaust popping can be both a lean and a rich condition. |

A TFI is a less techy Power commander,Lets you adjust the air/fuel ratio,The TFI uses screws to adjust it n the Power Commander uses a laptop. |
