I am about one click away from buying a pipe. I am not a hp junky, but do not want to notice a loss. I just want to be noticed, and the stock is not cutting it with how quiet it is. I usually am cruising at about 3500 rpm and will break the law when I get a chance. I just want a pipe, no ecm, or air filter. Also want that sporty, deep, v twin thump that does not sound like a typical harley. What is my best bet. This determines it. Let Me Have It. Thank you for the Help. |

Remus Revolution or Hot Performance Big Oval Both all stainless steel with removeable end baffles if you want even more noise and both superbly made. |

Drummer if you want to make sure you don't lose anything anywhere. It's got a great sound. Unless you want REALLY EFFIN' LOUD!!!! then get the Force exhaust (you'll lose on the bottom though)). GET THE AIR FILTER... If you don't get any more air into the engine, you won't get any more out. In case you were wondering... You will notice a difference w/ the filter alone. The bike runs just a little smoother and snappier. After roll on, there's a little more there as well. |

I am presently running a DRUMMER, and am pleased with its performance. i think thats about as good a muffler that can work with the stock primary pipes, only thing i could complain about is that it is a pretty big chunk of steel hanging. |

Thanx for the input. I was just offered the race pipe for exchange of my stock by a fellow rider on this forum. I may do that. If not that, then I may go with Jardine. |

I am running the Buell race pipe/K&N air filter/race ECM on my 9S. At idle, frankly, it DOES sound like a Harley! As soon as you give it some throttle though, it definitely sounds like a deep-throated V-twin. I like it, but cannot compare it to any of the other pipes...I have not heard them. As for the noise issue, it depends on just how antisocial you are prepared to be. If you don't give a rat's a$$ who you pi%% off, go as loud as you can tolerate. Just remember, on a long road trip YOU have to listen to all that noise, and it must get really tiring and aggravating after a couple of hours...even with earplugs (?). I want to hear the bike when I'm riding and I want it to sound like a throaty V-twin, but I don't want to be aggravated by it. |

Thanx for the input. I was just offered the race pipe for exchange of my stock by a fellow rider on this forum. I may do that. If not that, then I may go with Jardine The Beson could be used on a street bike but it's almost as loud as straight pipes - but makes excellent power (we dyno'd same bike same day at Bartels with their custom race pipe v. my Beson. The Beson made about 5 HP more than the other race pipe) Caution - if you are going with the Beson race pipe (Hals, Kosco and others - the "factory" race pipe) - you are NOT getting a pipe with an oxygen sensor and you then have to have one welded in - or you need to get a legit race ECM - and the factory doesn't sell them unless you can show your race resume. |

Yep, I made it, never been hassled for it in over 10,000 miles. I made provisions for enough backpressure, and it makes better power down low than the stocker. It sounds like cannons going off. Sherm

Dschley... Sounds like the Special OPs pipe would be perfect for you! Sounds meaner than a pitbull in heat, retains stock appearance (and DOT stamp) yet sheds a few pounds. Although you do not make and big gains in HP or TQ the curves are extremely flat and the power is predictable. Best of all it is really hard to beat the price. |

Loud drummer or force pipe. If you have a 12 you could get a d&d as well, but I wouldn't recommend it on a 9. |

Some pipes don't allow you to jack under the muffler. This should be a strong consideration if you plan on doing your own work on the bike (and it's just a good idea anyways). I love my race pipe but would consider a drummer next time. Also want that sporty, deep, v twin thump that does not sound like a typical harley. I don't know how to respond to this, because it is a harley derived motor....but I know what you mean. Race Pipe, Drummer and Jardine, D&D all have the thumpy characteristic getting progressively LOUDER from left to right. (Message edited by kowpow225 on June 23, 2005) |

I"m happy with my ops pipe. It seems to make more power everywhere and sounds good. I like the looks of the dual outlets and got to keep the exhaust valve also. If you have a 9, I believe he generally makes them with the single outlet... Just my $.02 Kevin |
