We should be getting fairly close to the 2006 model year launch. Anybody know exactly when that will be, or if Buell has anything fancy up their sleeves? |

Wait a minute... DENVER??? I could make that in a couple (few or so anyway) hours... Am I invited? If not, is there any way to crash the party w/o going to jail? (Message edited by m1combat on June 22, 2005) |

I am pretty sure we are all invited, except me of course Getting the loyal and knowledgable Buell owners to one of these things is critical. Invites should be in the mail as we speak. |

Anony- Hasn't the official date been July 14th for the past few years? Why the change to the 23rd? Also, any chance you'll tell us the difference between a 34144-02 and a 34157-06? Mike L. '04 XB12R |

How much is it worth to know what the new models will be? I'll be heading out to Denver myself, and will alert the BadWeb once we get the low down on the new models. Just so everyone knows, once the new models are unveiled to the dealers, the Buell website goes live with the data. Just keep checking the website that weekend. There will be demo rides, so I'll report back once I get the low-down. If all goes well & the models are what I'm guessing they might be my post will be dated 2 days prior!

Buells aint selling all their 2005s yet so whats up with worrying about the 2006s already? Tell you one thing Harley dealers would be WISE to dump their bikes for a grand less and still make a nice profit on them.... Buells too ! |

WHERE IN DENVER? Being that I live in Denver, I can put on my Willie G mask, saucy leather beret, and saunter right on into the new model unveiling. |

Combat replied: And which company that's been making motorcycles for 102 years have you been running? Oh, wait... There aren't any others. people can not take critiques of harley-davidson motor company? i own the HDI stock. they flooded the market and dealers can't sell them all now. so they cut production 10,000 bikes sent the stock plummeting 10 points or so in ONE day... and you telling me that harley dealers taking 1 grand off of their bikes to SELL them out is a stupid idea? the motor company IS not the dealers. The dealers still making TONS of money. So is the motor company. The motor company doesn't do a dang thing about price gouging dealer tactics they do still. OK so have a dealer full of 03, 04 and 05 and 06 bikes that you won't sell because each year something is " new and improved " So I DO OWN HDI and hence I own part of the COMPANY. Dealers slam Harley davidson corp. all day long. And actually IF you know you harley 102 year history so well. what do you think Harley did during the great depression to survive? many a harley dealer took on other brands (ie. Honda) during the 60's and 70's when harley bikes had to be totally rebuilt in some cases at the dealer before it could go out the door. each year harley increases prices they price some one out of buying that product. the boomers will die off and what will be left and who will be left? giving a customer 1 grand off a 20 thousand dollar bike is not gonna kill em. that would prolly bring IN sales. I know if I was buying a brand new buell I would LOVE a thousand dollars off the sales price ! They make that grand up selling some overpriced leather , a few chrome do dads, and MANDATORY 2 year warranty maintainence required services... |

from what i understand the prices are "suppose" to stay the same over the next five years. now whether or not that happens we will see. with all the growth in china the demand and cost for steel is increasing. I expect softail sales to increase this year and so does the company. they're speeding up the line to prepare for it. (Message edited by lucky on June 23, 2005) |

The stock market way over-reacted, so why is that the companies fault? And, anyhow, at retail price, Buells are the best value of anything from the Motor Company at the moment. Forget wasting time online, buy one and ride today! |

you only get gouged if you agree to it . . . harley, like all of us, is in business to make a profit -- as the consumer, you are the ultimate arbitor |

I know the Softtail Springer certainly has my attention...but the $$!!! Whoa! It will take more than a skimpy 1K to move me in that direction... For way less $$ I could get on a Triumph Sprint ST or a new Duc ST4S or even a Multistrada S. They may not have the look of a HD Springer but they'll move down the road and hustle through the hills a whole lot easier. Dang, I just don't feel like HOG material... |

I'm sure you would, but that doesn't make it a good business model. Do you honestly believe that $1k is what keeps Buells on the sales floor? Mike L. |

For my next bike purchase Buell doesn't offer anything that fits my wants (2-up riding), and my next passenger-optional bike after that I'll have to wait to see what July offers (not buying in July unless it's a cruiser, and that probably won't be a Harley unless it's an older used model) A $1,000 dollar discount will only capture the people that wanted a Buell anyway. |

Wasn't Triumph started 1 year before Harley? Their centennial models were out in 2002. That would make them 103 years old....John |

But they've died like 68 times in that period haven't they? Maybe not... I'm not sure. Makes no difference really anyway . "They make that grand up selling some overpriced leather , a few chrome do dads, and MANDATORY 2 year warranty maintainence required services..." That's not true... You can perform your own maintenance. You can also CHOOSE not to in the US. Where are you from again? "So I DO OWN HDI and hence I own part of the COMPANY. " Yeah, neat... But you don't RUN the company, which is what I was asking about. WRT the stock price, sounds to me like you should have anticipated that, sold the stock just before it dropped then picked it up again... You CHOSE to lose money there . |
