Had my oldest daughter & 2 1/2 year old grandson come up. We decided to hit the zoo in Madison in the am.......very popular place & extremely busy for being such a tiny zoo. Then we loaded up the boat & hit lake Wisconsin for the afternoon. Actually managed to get my wife out on the tube for short bit...she isnt really into the boat deal yet. But my daughter loved riding it, got her up to about 30mph & she was flying along & having a good time. Then my grandson decided he wanted to ride also..the tube we brought along is a 2 person side by side deal So we sat him in 1 side & my daughter in the other & we pulled them along at a max speed of 10 mph. It was great seeing him give us the thumbs up sign & waving. The kid is going to be a total speed junkie by the time he is 4 Finished off the day with dinner at Carlos"O"Kellys..stupid name but damn good mexican food...enchiladas & mexican fire steak..yummy. |

I worked overtime since the wife and kids are up in PA with Grandma for a few weeks. Was going to go boating with our new boat also but making doubletime appealed a little bit more (gotta make the boat payment!) Sounds like you had a great day Dyna...Odie |

I watched the farce that is to become the 6th Annual US F1 Gran Prix at Indy...then I went out to the garage to work on my bike only to find I was so agitated with the race, that I was not lining up things in the drill press correctly and stopped myself before it became expensive... |

Hey Simond, that's great. Real coal-fired steam is right up there with 45 degree air-cooled V-twins in the coolness department. |

I got to have fathers day spread out over the last week. Went to visit my daughter and grand kids who just happen to live very near Laconia. I just had to find something to do during the day when the kids were away, and I just happened to bring the bike so I spent the days at Bike week and the nights with the kids. On Sunday I was home again so in the morning after church I spent the time cleaning the bike. Then went to the other daughters for Dinner. It is really great to be a grand father and a father. My wife and son took me to the Pancake breakfast at our local Fish and Game Club. All you can eat for five bucks. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, OJ (the drink not the murderer) and coffee. The also had the best homefries...cooked w/onions and cream cheese!!!! Went to the park to play on jungle gyms and when my boy was tired we went home. Watched some drag racing on video and played w/Hot Wheels Thundercycles dragstrip. Mostly a father and son day. Liam went to take a nap so I took the 'Busa for a spin and later went out on the Buell and headed up to Loudon. BS'ed w/ folks I met and had a great time. Hey Simond, That's a good looking little man you have there. Looks like you'll have help in the garage soon. We're going to see Thomas and Friends on the 26th! from the photos they look like real engines..how cool is that? Liam is going to love this trip. He thinks Thomas is the best. I can't wait. |

Well since i am not really a dad yet..(sept 7th due date). I didn't expect anything.. so i started to mow the lawn, and drywall my "project" (which is my pain in the butt, house re-model). The wife surprised me and took me to dinner at Los Quatro's Amigos, and went to see Batman Returns.. gonna get a FM tuner for the IPOD for the long trip this week. All in all was a good day for me, i mean i can't wait till i accually am a dad... lol |

Craigster, yes, they are real engines. It's a great day out for the kids. I think that they had 9 or 10 engines running last weekend. There is a regular shuttle between the three stations. Have a great time. |

I taught a MSF Beginners Rider Class all weekend, and they all passed -that plus what my kids got for me made it a good day. Also Friday (17th) was my B'day and I went to the Priest concert with my son, so it made for a busy weekend. |

We were having a 90th birthday party for my father-in-law on Sunday. Since my son had to work Friday night we waited until noon Sat. to take off on the bikes. He lives in S.E. Minnesota and is about 90 miles from us. We did a jaunt over to the Mississippi, of course had to stop for MIT burgers in Elkader. I took him on some of the good roads in Iowa. 150mi. later we made it there. Sunday morning my wife wanted baloons for the party and sent me out for them. Of course S.E. MN doesn't have much for shops that are open on a Sunday morning. I rode over to Mabel (really), up to Rushford, thru Houston (not Texas) and found some baloons in Caledonia. 70 miles later I made it back. She just laughed at me when I told her they were some pretty expensive baloons. If you know S.E. MN, those were some of the best roads in the area. |

I was with Craig (99buellx1). I showed him and our friend Dave (TL 1000) several curvy roads between Waterloo and Northern Missouri. It was a perfect day for a ride, low '80's, sunny and calm. My Dad is no longer living but we did stop in my home town of Oskaloosa, Iowa and visited my Mom on the way back home. I'm sure she's the talk of the neighborhood now! Who were those hooligans, anyway?? |

Slept in, watched a little of the F-1 farce, a little of cab racin (nascar), then Fiery and I rode the Road Glide and went for lunch and then rode some more and got ice cream. Then we met my dad for supper and I picked up my son to visit at my dad's house. 3 generations- way cool! |

My kids stood me up, so I thought I would do the next best thing. I fired up the S1, and went back to my hometown to visit my dad. He gas been gone for 18yrs, and I don't get back out there near as much as I should.(been at least 2 yrs!). Yeah I know...I am dragging the mood of the thread down...but it wasn't like that for me. It was cool to go back to the old home place, and see how things have changed(and stayed the same). It's an nice ride out there...I should do it more. I got to think about how far I have come in life, and were I am going next. It's nice just to ride and think. As I was pulling out to head back to civilization, I got behind 2 semis running bobtail...I swear these guys were running 90-95mph!! I had fun just following them! |

Rode out to Modesto Ducati (no more Buell) with Rex and Woz, shot the breeze with MoDucto folks, rode to Mexican food spot, ate, got heartburn, rode home, wife took me to Monroe Motors East Bay and bought me an Arai Signet GTR. Velly expensive, but the best helmet I have ever had. I didn't know a helmet could fit so perfectly and be so light and well ventilated and quiet all at the same time. Oh and a bottle of Port and some cigars...all in all not a bad day. |
