I just sold my BMW r1100sa and it has hard saddle bags. I really put them to use, they could even hold a gallon of milk! Now that I've got an X1 I need some storage space to at least hold somecold weather gear and school books. Looks like some of the big dresser bikes make bags that could be adapted to the Bike. I know it would stick out the back some. But its functional and even have extra break lights. And can be used as a back rest for a passenger. So has anybody tried this mod? http://i21.ebayimg.com/01/i/03/ca/ab/7a_1_b.JPG |

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4556593454&fromMak eTrack=true I like to see the quality of the lower price bags compared to name brand trunks.. If I'm going to stick a ugly trunk on my x1 at least it would be good quality. |

My preference is soft bags and a back pack if I have to do any shopping on the Buell. The T-Bag works great on the Harley. The Ventura rack pack would work great on your Buell as well and is removable when you want to ride light. Keep looking and don't forget that two new models are coming out in July. If you are lucky, one may be a hardbagged sport tourer and you can easily adapt the hardbags to your bike. |

Ventura rack pack is a nice option. but 285.00!!!!for a frame and a backpack! That about double what I think it should cost. Ventura want 150 just for a dang backpack. Looks like I could just order the 115.00 frame and then have a local fab shop adapt a hard trunk to the bike. I could even have it adjustable so that when riding solo the trunk could be close to my back side. Just like the way the ventura is adjustable. I mounted Givi racks/e21 bags onto my XB9r. They work well with about 1,200 miles so far. Enough cutting and welding to make the Ventura rack look cheap. |

The parts the bags mount to are from a friends wrecked Seca mounts. It looks wide from the rear, but it is almost the same width as an S3t with the narrow bag lids. I could mount other givi bags if I needed more room. They are painted and the excess material is trimmed off now; looking much better than these pictures. |
