my xb footpegs get stronger every time i weld them back together. pretty soon i will have more TIG weld rod than original taiwanese cast "metal" the reason the stock footpegs are so light is that they are so full of voids, they are basicly an aluminum sponge. at least they dont cost much. |

Calling Al at American Sport Bike: How about some CNC machined pegs that mimic the stock look and design?? I would buy them. I'll bet you would sell a lot on this site as well. Just an idea. Maybe they would be too hard to machine? xbolt12 |

Woodcraft makes a really strong pegs (and cheap too). But you will need to get the mounting bracket or the entire rear set. The entire set costs like $350. |

I'm not sure why anyone would want billet ones that were otherwise identical to the stock Firebolt pegs, they don't seem all that special to merit duplication. What am I missing? The LSL style pegs seem a better choice to me for one wanting firebolt ergos. Now, a billet version of the 1" dropped lightning pegs would probably do a lot better. I'm looking into that. Al |

I agree. I would like to see some lightning pegs in billet. To quote some 3%'ers, I've tried a lightning with the Xb-R pegs and I look like a monkey f*cking a football. |

Try checking out the Buell accessory catalog, you will find billet pegs that are reasonably priced. BTW Lightnings and Firebolts come with the very same front pegs, HD makes Dyna Wide Glides for people who don't want to look like the monkey with the football, you'll look like your grandpa in a Barcalounger. If you're too worried what you look like purchase a darker face shield or stay away from all those large plate glass windows. |

"BTW Lightnings and Firebolts come with the very same front pegs" That is just plain wrong. The S pegs are about one inch lower, and are sold as an accessory for the R. http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes_gear/accessories/productslist.asp?Menu_ID=4&ID= 1941&MITEM=65 Notice the description says "Fits '03-later XB9R and '04 XB12R models. Stock on '03-later XB9S and '04-later XB12S models." (Message edited by garp on June 14, 2005) |

Al, I'd like to see the LSL round billet foot pegs available with a 1" lower perch to match the stock height of the S model. E. J. |

I would like to see that as well. In the meantime, I may pick up a set of LSL's. I could'nt find the billet's on E-bay. Got a link? |

Al, I'm game for a set of the lowered pegs. I want to get stronger pegs but after riding a demo R with stock pegs I forget how much I love the lower ones. Hurry up! Oh, and make 'em anodized gold, too! |

The Buell traction pegs are billet and well built. But their fundamental problem is that the rubber makes them even taller, reducing what is already tight seat to peg distances. I've never really thought rubber did much for grip or vibration isolation, I prefer metal under my sole. Sounds like there is a lot of interest in some billet S pegs. I'll get something going. In a perfect world, I'd fire up my CAD system and just design the damned things myself. Alas, I'm stretched too thin at the moment with other projects and just normal sales activities, so I'm going to have to speak to a few key suppliers about ginning these up. I've already contacted one, I'll see if the process can be accelerated. Al |

Hey Garp, sorry, I stand corrected. Hey Kdan, I might have temporarily been a "Dumas", but I'm NOT the ONE who looks like a monkey F*cking a football, I guess I can understand why that might cause someone to be "TESTY" |

Those pegs from Oberon are sweet. I'd like an S version but if I have to compromise...They will certainly do. |

We deal with Oberon for our preload adjusters and have 1 pair of the Blue footpegs (shown in the picture) in stock. If anyone wants the others we can get those too. Price for US customers is £29.74 or approx US$53 per pair. We also have the Rizoma pegs, which are similar in design to the LSL items. |

According to Oberon's site the "touring" pegs are longer than the others. Can anyone who has the Oberon pegs compare them to a stock XB peg for size and length? I certainly wouldn't want anything shorter than stock. Thanks. Mike |

Do the pegs ship from the US or the UK? What is the shipping cost to Connecticut USA? I want a set. |

Al - see if they can work up something like the Lockhart Phillips superhole pegs. They allow adjustability - I can have them down for a leisurely ride, and up and back for aggressive riding. Here's some pics: Might just be able to fab up an adapter that would connect to our stock peg hangers and allow you to use these pegs... Just my $.02 |

Crusin, That looks like the ticket to me. I just don't want to spend big money for rearsets, when the stock Firebolt peg position is great (for aggressive riding), and the rubber coated pegs are just another item to wear out. xbolt12 |
