Does anybody here use a Fram or a Wix oil filter on their XB9R? If so, what's the part #? I can't seem to find anyone at the local auto parts store who can cross reference the part number. I'm kinda lazy and I don't want to go to two different places to get the oil and filter. Mark |

I would recommend against FRAM, they are cheaply made. These should make for interesting reading... http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/oil_filter_study/ http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/103118.html |

Maybe I'm an oddball but I don't mind paying a little more for the Buell filter. It's a good quality filter & it's not something I'm buying everyday. I might go through 3 or 4 of them a year. What you save on the cheaper filters doesn't seem too significant to me. |

The stock Buell filter is a good filter. Personally, I use the Purolator Pure One (14476) as I think it is a better choice. |

Not so much about the money as the convenience of getting everything in one stop. I don't use the H/D oil I use Mobil 1. I can throw a rock and hit the nearest Autozone, so I figured if I can get everything there there will be less time spent on maintenance and more on riding. |

By the way, the article about the Fram filter was disconcerting to say the least. Especially when you consider I use them in every vehicle I own and have ever since I started doing my own oil changes. I actually went with the Bosch...but I think the sticker looks cool |

Any concerns on the spring valve in some of these? Cause too much pressure on the oil pump? |
