Track day at heartland park yesterday did not go so well. I am all right and the bike is alright, but I woke up this morning still reeling from what I learned yesterday, and still confused by it. I'll throw a write up here somewhere. got a new nick name....."soil SAMple" hahahaha I got a lot to do today, hope you guys are having a good weekend, happy father's day to whom appropriate, and we are grilling again this afternoon, hope to see you here. |

the bike has a broken footpeg and scratches on the plastic I wound up with a severely bruised ego. nothing more. ignorance really.....something I had never experienced, anticipated, or expected in all my years of motorcycling, kept sending me out to pasture. I can tell you the cause and cure in two words each, but it will be much better reading if I run through my day from the beginning.... It was terribly frustrating....and funny all at the same time......more frustrating than funny....until everybody who stopped by made it laughable.....you get the point. I'm sure they were all proud to have me representing Buell! |

Sam, It was last week. It was a pretty small turn out. I think there was seven people there. |

I should look at a calendar more often, I certainly didn't mean to be absent..... Well, at least I won't show up there tomorrow to a "NO" turnout..... |

They have an S3 at Gail's now. Kind of a fixer-upper, but we'll see what it looks like when the service department gets done with it. I have a question: Other than stripping the bike, what does it take to get a tuber's frame and wheel powder-coated ($$$) and about how long should it take? (A week? 2? 3? ....) |

2 weeks - $200 |

Dusty,it all depends on who is doing the powder coating and what color you are wanting. Will the person doing the powder coating do all the prep work of having the frame bead blasted? Is your powder coating going to be a 1 or 2 step process?Sams 2 weeks COULD be close to correct for a time frame, but the $200 dollars could be WAY off,it could cost you $400 or more depending on alot of the above things. |

Thanks. After some serious soul searching, I've decided that I'll never really be happy with the S3. Too many things that are different from what I want. I would put lots of time and money into it, and still not be quite happy. Darn. I really like the way the tubers look. |

What was the title of that motorcycle book we saw at the last meeting? Was it from the Motorcycle Museum, or what? I would like to see if I can get a copy on-line. |
